“HarvestFest in Bancroft is a not to be missed event this year,” stated Amber Bridges of the Bancroft Community Club, organizers of the event.
The event is being held this Sat., Sept. 7th from 7:00 a.m. until way past bedtime. There are many events throughout the day beginning with a one-mile fun run/walk or 5K. This is followed by breakfast at Grandma’s Attic, kids tractor pull, dodgeball, and co-ed sand volleyball. That is just a few of the events listed on the flyers around town.
There will be a Kiddie Parade at 10:00 a.m. on Main Street. From 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. there is a car and motorcycle show at the Bancroft park. A tractor show will be held at the same time on Main Street.
A tractor pull is at noon at Highway 16 near CVA. From 1:00-3:00 p.m. there is a Big Wheels Race.
The HarvestFest parade will be held at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Cuming County Feeders meal on Main Street. And a watermelon feed.
The conclusion of the day is a dance from 9:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. featuring Silver Moon on Main Street.
The HarvestFest has been an annual event in Bancroft for many years. “I am not sure how many, but it has been happening since I was little,” Amber said.
There isn’t a special reason for the event. “It is just a celebration in town,” Amber stated.
The Bancroft Community Club has been busy organizing all of the events to insure a great time for everyone. “There are many new activities on the schedule this year, plus some returning ones,” Amber said. “It’s great to have so many activities to do throughout the day for the entire family, from the smallest of small to the wisest of wise.”
For a complete list of activities, please look at the flyer included in this story. There are also flyers in all of the area businesses in Bancroft and surrounding communities listing the events of the day.
