Marion Goracke, age 87, of Oakland, Nebraska passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral service will be on Monday, June 3, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lyons, Nebraska. Burial will be at a later date in the Oakland Cemetery in Oakland. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 2nd, from 5 until 7 p.m. with family receiving friends and Vigil at 7 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Services in Oakland. Memorials to the family for future designation. Marion Goracke was born July 15, 1931 to Leo and Veronica (Lempka) Pientka, in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She passed away May 30, 2019 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

Marion graduated from Sterling High School in 1948.

On June 6, 1951, Marion and Clarence Daniel Goracke were united in marriage at Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Mary, Nebraska. To this union were born nine children.

Marion was blessed to be a stay at home mother. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lyons, Nebraska. She enjoyed playing Bridge, sewing and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, baby brother and great grandson.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence; children, Robin (Janet) Goracke, Curt (Lynn) Goracke, Diane (Kevin) Eriksen, Patrick (Lorene) Goracke, Nancy (Scott) Davis, Rex Goracke and Patti Hardbarger, Joan (Robert) Kuhl, Jean (Jon) Heusel, Krisa (Curtis) Johnson; 15 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Pender; Pastor Randy Nelson will be officiating. The memorial visitation will be Friday, May 10. 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Pender. Inurnment will be at a later date. The aftermath of the recent flooding took a very definite toll on the community of Winslow, NE. People have been cleaning up their property, but some may not be able to return to their homes to live. Deb was born January 9, 1952 in Sioux City to Vernon and Jacqueline (Menefee) Bue. She graduated from East High School in Sioux City in 1970. Deb married William Lund on May 4, 1984 in Sioux City, together the couple had three children. She worked at the Sioux City Stockyards before owning Debbie’s Daycare for 30 years. Deb loved attending her kid’s and grandkid’s sporting events as well as watching sports on tv. She loved sewing, working at the library, and was an active member of the Senior Center.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Lund of Bancroft, NE; daughter, Tiffany Engle of Denver, CO; daughters, Danielle Lund of Lincoln, NE and Lindsey (Brad) Burhoop of Bancroft, NE; son, William “B.J.” (McKayla) Lund of Bancroft, NE; grandchildren, Bowdie and Tavis Burhoop and Liam Lund; and brother, Curt (Vicky) Bue of Sioux City, IA.

Deb is preceded in death by her parents; and niece, Alana Bue.
