Lady Cougars play some of their best volleyball


Northeast picked up one win in volleyball  last week while losing in two other contests.

 

They went down to defeat to Scribner-Snyder on Tuesday.  The (8-9) Trojans won the EHC match by taking all three games

On  Thursday, Lyons hosted a Triangular meet with Emerson-Hubbard and Winnebago.  The  (9-2) Pirates won two matches; The Cougars split in their competition, and (7-9) Winnebago lost twice.

 

The Cougars played some of their best volleyball in the third set against Winnebago.  They led 17 to 4 as Maddie Ronnfeldt, Haley Bacon, and Brianne Haskell each served aces and were backed up by excellent floor play.

 

“I know our girls are capable of playing this way,  said Coach Cronin.  “Playing consistent has been a our main problem this year.”

This will be one of the busiest weeks for the girls as they have two triangulars and a weekend tournament. The  (3-12) Cougars travel to Wisner-Pilger for a double triangular on Tuesday.  Madison and Howells-Dodge will join the Gators and Cougars.  Thursday is a trip to Boys Town for a triangular including the Cowgirls and Cedar Bluffs.  Saturday is an eight team tournament at Clarkson.
