Getting to know you: Jo Brummond

Occupation: I teach 3rd grade at Bancroft-Rosalie School… I love working with the young ones. There is never a dull moment and they always come up with something cute to say. I love their carefree manner and energy…. We can learn a lot from children. I also love that I am only a few blocks from work!!!
Family: I am married to Cecil Brummond, going on 25 years now. Wow!!! We are blessed with three children: Camron 24, Connor 21, and Amanda 19. They all currently attend Wayne State College. My husband works construction and still farms when he can.
What was your favorite food when you were a child? I loved speghetti and pizza, also spinach..
What are you hobbies? I enjoy exercise, reading, making crafts, hanging out with family, spending time praying for others.
What is one of your favorite quotes? Never, never, never give up. If you won the lottery, what would be your first purchase? I would pay for my children’s education, help my church family with paying for a new building, and pay bills..
What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Laundry and shoveling snow… ☹
What is your favorite form of exercise? I like interval training- I do a lot of Jillian Michael DVDs, Jazzercise and walking.
If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be? I love the age I am now… 35 was good too!
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? I always wanted to learn to play the drums and to play the guitar.
What is your favorite book? The Bible, Tuesdays with Morrie, The Purpose Driven Life.
When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time? I will usually workout, call or text one of my kids at college, or put my feet up and relax.
What would you name the autobiography of your life? Jolene Who? Or Don’t Take Anything for Granted!
What is your favorite time of day? Early evening.. I love sunsets…
