Lyons-Decatur Northeast went head to head with Scribner-Snyder last Thursday in a hard fought basketball game.
Seven Cougars hit the hoops for the Cougars. Dakota Riecken had 20 points and two rebounds. He also went six for ten at the line.
Henneman had six points, Brehmer 4, Simpson seven, Hegy five, Bishop five and Montana Riecken had two.
Despite all of their efforts, the Cougars lost 57-52. “Scribner-Snyder is a good team that is always improving. We must continue to learn and accept our roles,” stated Head Coach Derek Lahm.
Saturday night LDNE played Bancroft Rosalie. This game wasn’t quite the match-up as the Scribner-Snyder game was as the Cougars lost 84-60.
Despite the loss, the Cougars had four players hit double figures, with Dakota Riecken leading the way again this game with 21 points and eight rebounds.
Henneman and Brehmer each had ten points, Simpson had eight, and Hegy had ten.
Brehmer went five for seven at the line, D. Riecken went six for ten and Hegy hit four out of six.
The score is not a reflection of the effort the Cougars made. “The game was a 10-point game until the 6:30 mark of the 4th quarter. We need to eliminate silly mistakes and turnovers and make some adjustments in terms of our effort on defense and rebounding,” said Derek Lahm.
The Cougars next round of action is on Fri.. Dec. 20th at home against Howells-Dodge. Games begin with JV hitting the court at 4:30 p.m.
