The Lady Cougars lost both games in the Lyons-Decatur Holiday Tournament. Scribner-Snyder won 45-31 on the opening night. Omaha Mercy won the consolation game 48-37.
Darcey Simonsen had 8 of her team-high 10 points in the first quarter against (4-3) Scribner-Snyder. A three point third quarter doomed the Cougars who trailed by four at the half.
In the consolation game, Breanne Haskell had a big game with 18 points. Sidnea Brown led the Mercy girls with 16.
Northeast led at the half by the score of 21-20. They went 7 for 17 from the line in the first half. The girls fared little better in the second half as they ended up with 13 of 27 from the charity stripe.
The Cougars start the New Year with a January 3 contest against(2-4) Allen.
