GARY D. KRUTILEK was born to Walter and Betty (Hell) Krutilek November 13, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska. He passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska, after battling cancer, at the age of 56 years.

The family lived in Waterloo, Nebraska, until moving to a farm west of Oakland. Gary attended country school and graduated from Oakland-Craig High School in 1976.

Gary served his country in the U. S. Navy for four years.

On November 28, 1981, he married JoAnn Neuvirth in West Point, Nebraska. They made their home in Oakland.

Gary worked at Oakland-Craig Schools for thirty years. He served on the Oakland City Council and St. Joseph’s parish council.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Krutilek; brother, Tom Krutilek and sister, Sally Mulick.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Krutilek of Oakland; daughter, Rachel Krutilek of Omaha, NE; sons, Zachary Krutilek of Wayne and Kristopher Krutilek of Lincoln, NE; mother, Betty Krutilek of Oakland; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Debbie Krutilek of Decatur, NE Dennis Krutilek of Lincoln; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Dale Launsby of Omaha.

MEMORIAL MASS: Friday, December 27, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lyons with Military Honors by Robert Klase-Rogers VFW Post No.7998 and Harvey Lenig American Legion Post No. 83.

MEMORIAL GATHERING: Thursday, December 26, 2013, 5 – 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. Scripture Wake Service at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland.
