Tekamah-Herman Voters Down Proposed Bond

The voters from Tekamah-Herman spoke loud and clear voting against the proposed bond to build a new school. This leaves other options on the table such as repair the existing school facility or consolidate. I wonder what the future will hold now? Stay tuned!

IT ALSO LEAVES THE OPTION FOR A LESSER BOND AMOUNT. Just because we didn’t want to spend $35 million does not mean that we do not want to build our own school. Hopefully people are not as quick as you to assume that a failed bond proposal means that building our own school is not an option. I hope people take the time to think things through before making statements like that. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE WANT TO CONSOLIDATE. It means that we think it is foolish to over-spend to create facilities we do not need when there are more cost effective options available.

    • I did state there would be options, I didn’t mean for you to take it as anything else. I apologize for that. I am sure many options will be looked at over time, but not to the proposed expense that the voters did not pass. I hope all goes well for everyone involved and that everyone can come together and find a solution that works for all, especially the children.
