CHUCK ROGERS, SR. was born September 13, 1926 to Charles A. and Irene (Stillman) Rogers in Decatur, Nebraska. He passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska, at the age of 88 years.
He attended school in Decatur and Los Angeles, California, where he graduated. He served in the Army during World War II, and was honored to be a veteran.
On March 30, 1948, he married Betty Ann Lindstrom. To this union three children were born, Chuck, Kathleen and Deanna. Aside from his family, his lifelong passion was selling cars and creating X-Tra-Touch barbecue sauce.
Chuck’s hobbies were horse racing, playing bridge, golfing, bowling, cooking ribs and remodeling houses. In his younger years, Chuck and Betty would spend time in Arizona during the winter months. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, and participate in other activities.
He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland, Nebraska, American Legion Post Rogers-Crum Post #215, Tekamah Masonic Lodge #31 A.F. &A.M. and a past member of Tangier Shrine of Omaha, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Perry, Doyle and Norman; great grandchildren, Gabriel and Jude Ray.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Chuck (Linda) Rogers; daughters, Kathleen (Randy) Wolfe, Deanna (Greg) Ray; ten grandchildren, Leslee (Kevin) Brenneis, Burt (Becky) Rogers, Paula (Tracy) Denton, Brad (Becky) Hawkins, Kristi (Mike) Midthun, Rachel (Matt) George, Connie (Matt) Felber, Gus (Nikki) Ray, Kate (Mick) Connealy, Roger (Megan) Ray; 27 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Orma Rogers, Elfie Nelson, Ione Lipps, Marlene Lindstrom; brother-in-law, Vincent Lindstrom; a host of family and friends.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, August 21, 2015, 1 pm, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland with MILITARY HONORS by American Legion Rogers-Crum Post #215 and Robert Klase-Rogers VFW Post #7998
