Oakland-Craig Easily Defeats Ponca

The Oakland-Craig Knights took on Ponca last Friday night, defeating them by a wide margin, 34-14. The Knights looked great on both sides of the ball, easily handling Ponca the entire game.

“Ponca has not had success in the win column, but they are a solid football team that has a brutal schedule. It was good to get out their with a solid win.  We really wanted to get out to a fast start and thought we did a good job of that,” stated Head Coach Joe Anderson.  “We were able to complete some passes early to open up our running game.”

This Friday night, Oakland-Craig faces a tough team in Stanton.

“This week is one of the bigger game of the seasons.  Stanton is a very good football team. (only loss to Battle Creek 19-6)They have a lot great athletes that play very physical. We will need a great week of preparation to accomplish one of our main goals of winning a district  championship,” said Anderson.

Come out and cheer on the Knights to a victory.
