Caregiver Support Group to Meet


The monthly Caregiver Support Group will meet at the Bancroft Senior Center, Monday 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. All caregivers are invited to come and enjoy the afternoon with us. We share our thoughts on how we keep the people we are caring for comfortable and happy.

*If you are 60+ and need information on programs designed to help keep you stay in your home longer or if you need legal help, contact Connie at 402-648-3387 or in the evening at 402-648-7648. There are no membership fees or attendance requirements and new faces are always welcome.

* We have the following medical equipment to loan out on an as need basis, wheel chair, bath seats, toilet seat riser and portable toilet chair, crutches or walkers. Call 402-648-3387 during office hours.

Meals on Wheels

*Would you like to get Meals on Wheels? Anyone over the age of 60 years and lives within the city limits are eligible for these meals. You may sign up anytime for the Meals on Wheels program; you can get the meals delivered however many times you want them each week. You must call 402-687-2332 before 8:30 a.m. if you want a meal that day. The suggested donation for the meal is $4.00.

 

Weekly Activities:

Wed. Aug. 16: Chime practice at 9:00 a.m. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m.  Come and play 5-handed pinochle or hand & foot at 1:30 p.m.

Thurs. Aug. 17: Tai Chi Class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time is 10:00. Sign up to play in the pitch tournament at 1:30 p.m. Another class on painting gourds at 1:30 p.m.

Fri. Aug.18: Make your appointment for the foot clinic starting at 9:00 a.m. Join us for the monthly birthday party starts at 1:30 p.m. with pitch and hand & foot and lunch being served at 3:30 p.m.

Mon. Aug. 21: Stop in and have coffee. The caregiver support group meets at 2:00 p.m. Make a reservation for the pork dinner for tomorrow.

Tues. Aug. 22: Tai Chi Class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time is at 10:00 p.m. The meal will be served at 12:00 p.m. Blood pressure clinic begins at 11:40 a.m. and the educational presentation at 12:20 p.m. Cards will be played in the afternoon.

Wed. Aug. 23: Chime practice 9:00 a.m. Coffee time is at 10:00 a.m. Bingo will be played at 2:00 p.m.

 

Meals on Wheels

Getting tired of cooking for one person and then have left over’s that you will be eating for the next couple of days? Why don’t you consider getting meals on wheels; the meals are very nutritious and provide you with the protein, fruits and vegetables needed for a well balanced meal. Contact the manager at the Bancroft Senior Center if have more questions or want to sign up; the number is 402-648-3387.

Helen Frangenberg Stoll of Colorado Springs CO Formerly of Lyons NE


Helen Stoll was born October 22, 1945 to Fred and Cecilia Frangenberg in Lyons, Nebraska. She attended Lyons Public Schools through the eighth grade. Helen attended Assumption Academy in Norfolk, graduating in 1964. After graduation she attended nursing school at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Omaha, NE, receiving her LPN, and continued working at St. Joseph’s until moving to Denver, CO. Helen worked at various hospitals and nursing homes in Denver and in the Fort Garland and Alamosa area until she retired.

Helen married Frank toll in Omaha January 27, 1973. One son, Mark, was born to this union.

Helen passed away July 8, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is survived by her husband Frank, of Fort Garland, CO, son Mark (Tina), 3 grandchildren, Omaha, sister Rosanna Frangenberg, Omaha, brother Bob (Ingrid) Frangenberg, Oakland, CA, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill, and sisters Mary, Dorothy, Agnes and Catherine.
