Denise Gilliland Meets Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts

Denise Gilliland, Editor and Chief of Kat Country Hub, was honored to meet Governor Pete Ricketts Monday evening when he came to declare Burt County Livestock Friendly. The picture isn't the best, my husband took it and doesn't care to use my good camera and I didn't know he was going to take one with his phone or I would have set it up. But, I am thrilled to be in a picture with him at any rate. I introduced myself as the Oakland City Council President and said how honored we all are to have him attend the fair and for the reason he did. He saw my election sticker on my blouse and wished me well upon being elected in November! What a thrill! Photo Credit/Jeff Gilliland.

Showed How Proud I am of Oakland and Serving the Citizens at Burt County Fair Parade

The weather was perfect Sunday to walk through the Burt County Fair Parade! I (Denise Gilliland, owner and editor of Kat Country Hub and Oakland City Council President) walked through the parade showing the citizens of Oakland how much Oakland means to me and how dedicated I am in serving each and every citizen of Oakland. It was wonderful seeing everyone at the parade and throughout the fair every day! I was also so blessed to have such wonderful people walk through the parade with me. I couldn’t have done it without them! My daughter, Whitney Tran and her husband Tri and their daughter Penelope, whom we spoil every chance we get, came early Sunday and helped us get everything ready to go! Our best friends Connie and Russ Peterson also came and helped out. They are truly great friends! Also, I just can’t thank Nebraska Senator Lydia Brasch and Oakland resident James Moseman enough for all they have done! They have been by my side, giving advice and helping me along the way. I appreciate each and every one of you so much! Thank you all!
