R. Deloris Fleischman, 94 of Omaha, NE Formerly of Oakland, NE


R. DELORIS FLEISCHMAN, 94 years, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Oakland, Nebraska, passed away June 26, 2014, at Heritage Pointe Assisted Living in Omaha.

Ruby Deloris Fleischman was born March 20, 1920, in rural Burt County, Nebraska near Tekamah, a twin daughter of Everett and Jessie (Palmer) Snow.

On January 16, 1940, Deloris married Myrl Irvin Fleischman at the Riverside Baptist Church.  They moved to a farm northeast of Oakland in 1942 where they raised their five children.  They were members of First Baptist Church of Oakland, where she taught Sunday school and participated in many other church activities.  Deloris was a member of the East Oaks Project Club and was a 4-H leader for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and quilting.  Even in her later years, she enjoyed hand embroidering.  In 1992, Deloris moved to Oakland. Myrl passed away August 2, 1992. She lived her later years at Heritage Point Assisted Living in Omaha.

Preceded in death by parents, Everett and Jessie (Palmer) Snow; husband, Myrl ; twin sister, Ruth  Delena Williams; sister, Cleo Gordon; granddaughter, Jennette Mae Heinrich; great granddaughter, Angie Mohr; son-in-law, Harlan Meyer.

She is survived by son, Ralph (Marlene), Amarillo, TX; daughters, Charlene (Wayne) Nottlemann, Lincoln, NE, Linda (Kenneth)  Beckstrom, Omaha, NE, Leneah Meyer, Hooper, NE, Elda (Russell) Stolze, Emerson, NE; 17 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Lyle (Judy)Snow of Tekamah, Duane Snow of Blair, NE; numerous nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, June 30, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Oakland.

VISITATION: The Family will receive friends, Sunday, June 29, 2014, 5 – 7 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation Monday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah, Nebraska

Ryan Touney, 41, of Jackson, NE passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Jackson, NE; with Father Paul Albenisius officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery in rural Jackson, NE. In leiu of flowers, the Ryan Touney Memorial Fund has been established at the Bank of Dixon County in Ponca, NE. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.

Ryan was born March 23, 1973 in Des Moines, IA to Richard and Linda Touney. He spent most of his childhood in the Sioux City area and graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in 1992. He graduated from Morningside College with a business degree. Since graduating, he has been employed with Hy-Vee and Frito Lay. On April 18, 1998, he was united in marriage to Gina Rutar at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson, NE. To that union, they were blessed with three children, Derrek, Dalton, and Dannika.

Ryan was a great son, husband, father, brother, and friend, He loved to coach not only his boys, but all boys in the community. He loved sports, gardening, hunting, fishing and boating. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.

Ryan is survived by his wife; Gina, two sons; Derrek and Dalton, daughter; Dannika, of Jackson, NE, parents; Richard and Linda Touney of South Sioux City, NE, three brothers; Troy (Tiffany) Touney of South Sioux City, NE, Corey (Lisa) Touney of Brandon, SD, and Sean Touney and special friend Ashley Johnson of Sioux City, IA, sister; Shannon (Andrew) Almelien of Clarinda, IA, parent-in-laws; Louis and Merry Lou Rutar of Thurston, NE, brother-in-laws; Chad (Jennifer) Rutar of Elkhorn, NE, and Nick (Colleen) Rutar of Washington D.C., sister-in-law Kris Rutar of Reston, VA, 7 nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.

Ryan was proceded in death by his grandparents; Val and Irene Crume, Frederick Sr., and step mother Ethel Touney, grandfather-in-laws Dutch Renz and John Rutar.

Dale T. Mayberry, 86 of Emerson, NE


Dale T. Mayberry, 86, of Emerson, NE passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 in an automobile accident. Funeral Services will be Monday, June 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE; Pastor Gretchen Ritola is officiating. The visitation will be Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE. The family will be present between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. The burial will be at St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery in Pender, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home of Emerson, NE.

Dale was born June 26, 1927 to William and Alice (Hulsebusch) Mayberry in Pender, NE. He attended country school in Thurston, NE and attended Thurston High School until freshmen year when his parents moved to Pender, NE. He completed high school in Pender and graduated in 1945. After graduation, Dale was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in France, Germany, and Austria. After his discharge, he worked for Pender Automatic and officiated football and baseball games. On June 1, 1948, he married Ardyce Frese at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender. The couple began farming. In 1967 the family moved to Emerson where Dale farmed and worked for Emerson and Wakefield fertilizer plants.

Dale was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, served on numerous committees and was a member of the Pender VFW. He was an avid Cornhusker fan. Dale enjoyed golf, bowling, and playing cards. Dale is survived by his wife; Ardyce Mayberry of Emerson, NE, daughter; Deb Wriedt of Jefferson City, MO, six grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren, brother; Warren (Mildred) Mayberry of Pender, NE, and many nieces and nephews.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, and son; Randy Mayberry.

Jerry Dell “JD” Worley, 50 of Omaha, NE


JERRY DELL “JD” WORLEY, 50 years, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at his home in Omaha.

Jerry was born December 23, 1963, in Onawa, Iowa, to Boyd and Jana (Hughes) Worley. JD grew up on a family farm two miles south of Macy, Nebraska. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1982. From the time he was young, he took an interest in cooking and baking. He said he grew up on his mother’s apron strings and learned his cooking skills at her side. JD served in the restaurant business at the New Inn at Lake Okoboji, Bishop Buffet, New Cassel Retirement Home and Hy-Vee Food Stores all in Omaha.

Jerry never met a stranger and used his friendly style to enhance his cooking skills. Chef JD as he was known at Hy-Vee, loved to share his recipes and cooking secrets with store customers. Jerry was a loving Christian man and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Survivors include his parents, Boyd and Jana Worley of Macy, NE; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Roxie Worley and their daughter, Kerry of Elkhorn, NE;  Jim and Diane Worley of Iowa City, IA; nieces, Kristy (Bryce) Lander and children, Hailey, Taylor and Luke of Moville, IA; Rachel (Casey) VandeKop and children, Mason and Nolan of Sergeant Bluff, IA; step nieces, Sarah Lander and children, Kianna  and Brayden of Sioux City, IA, Amber (Joe) Agrimson and children,  Paisley, Sage, Nora and Brealla of Sioux City; many aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of friends and friend, Bill W.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Monday, June 23, 201, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur, Nebraska
