Georgia Adelle Harold, 88 of Fremont, NE


GEORGIA ADELLE (REAFLENG) HAROLD was born July 18, 1925, in Glenwood, Iowa, to George and Hazel (Wilson) Reafleng.  She passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont, Nebraska at the age of 88 years.

On July 10, 1945, she married Richard Harold of Glenwood, IA.

Georgia was a full time homemaker and always welcomed everyone to her home.  She was a member of the Bluffs Homemaker Extension Club and the Riverside Baptist Church Ladies Club.  She was also very active in her children’s school activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Marvin; daughter-in-law, Betty; sisters, Alice Reafleng and Daisy Reafleng; brothers Bob and Bill.

Survivors include her husband, Richard of Fremont; daughters, Ann (Richard) Woodcock of Arlington, NE, Merna (Steve) Bowman of Gretna, NE, Valerie (Jim) Kjeldgaard of Fremont; sons, Roger (Jackie) of Hartington, NE, Gary of Wynott, NE, Ronnie of Craig, NE;  sister, Geneva (Stanley) Bomer of Pacific Junction, IA; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchild; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

PRAYER SERVICE: Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 3:00 pm, at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah, NE.

VISITATION: Saturday, January 25, from 2 – 5 pm with family receiving friends at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah.

Scott Andrew Storm, 47 of Wakefield, NE


Scott Andrew Storm, 47, of Wakefield, Nebraska died on Friday, January 17, 2014 at his home in Wakefield, Nebraska. Funeral services for Scott will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Wakefield, Nebraska; Pastor Kelly Johnston will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield, with the family present from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Burial will be at a later date in Coleridge, Nebraska. Military honors by the Anton Bokemper Wakefield American Legion Post #81. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Scott was born on August 18, 1966 in Big Springs, Texas, the son of Don and Beth (Henry) Storm. Scotts family moved to Coleridge, Nebraska, where he began Taekwondo and attended and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1984. After school he joined the United States Army where he served in Operation Desert Storm. Before he was shipped off, he was promoted to 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo. He married Toni Baker (Marr) in 1986 and they had four sons. After leaving the Army, Scott worked in Wakefield, Nebraska at Michaels Food where he worked for 26 years. Scott enjoyed wood working and participating in Riverssance in Sioux City. He also enjoyed going to Riverboat Days and camping in Yankton, SD, with his four sons and his sister Melody. Throughout his life he was very spiritual and had strong faith. He was also active in the Wakefield American Legion, serving as Commander. Most of all he was proud of his sons and enjoyed being a dad to them.

Scott is survived by his sons: Anthony Storm of Lincoln, NE, Brandon Storm of St. Helena, NE, Christopher Storm of Norfolk, NE and Derek Storm of Wakefield, NE. He is also survived by his brothers: Steven (Pat) Storm of Hooksett, NH and Frederic (Hoyong) Storm of Lincoln, NE; sisters: Sherry (Ron) Wilcox of Copperas Cove, TX, Kandi (Kevin) Fererichs of Wayne, NE and Melody Storm of Coleridge, NE and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Neva Jeanette Peterson, 83, formerly of Uehling, NE


NEVA JEANETTE PETERSON, 93 years, formerly of Uehling, Nebraska, passed away at Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the Hooper Care Center in Hooper, Nebraska.

Neva was born August 10, 1920, on the family farm near Fullerton, Nebraska, to Carl and Gertie (Smidt) Zipf. She grew up in the Fullerton area.

On February 6, 1940, Neva married Duane Peterson. They farmed at Fullerton, moving to the Oakland, Nebraska, area in the 1930s. Later they

made their home on the family farm near Uehling. Neva owned and operated a dress store in Hooper for several years.

Shortly following her husband’s death on April 26, 1992, Neva sold the farm and had a home built in Uehling. She always took much pride in her home, beautiful flowers and cooking many delicious meals for family and friends.

Neva was an active member of the Uehling First Congregational Church/UCC and the Women’s Fellowship. She was a long-time member of the Wo-He-Lo Club of Uehling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; brother, Merlin Zipf; sisters, Violet Rosenbery and Ruby Newquist; great granddaughter, Ashley Peterson.

Survivors include her two sons, Eldon (Jeanette) Peterson of San Tan Valley, AZ, Gale (Gloria) Peterson of Herman, NE; brothers, Robert Zipf of Columbus, NE, Maynard Zipf of North Platte, NE; sister, Velma Galbraith of Red Bluff, CA; six grandchildren, Lori (Dean) Enstrom, Lon (Martha) Peterson, Lee (Chelley) Peterson, Lana Peterson, Chad (Jennifer) Peterson, Ryan Peterson; eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Monday, January 20, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at First Congregational Church/UCC in Uehling, Nebraska.
