Patricia Lou (Kai) Fendrick, 74, of Pender, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Legacy Garden Rehabilitation and Living Center in Pender. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender; with Pastor Miles Ruch officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home.

Curtis A. Graff, 93, of Dalhart TX, Formerly of Bancroft NE


Curtis A. Graff, age 93, of Dalhart, Texas, formerly of Bancroft, Nebraska passed away at his home in Dalhart Texas on Sunday, November 15, 2015.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Dalhart Texas.  Interment will be in Bancroft NE, at a later date.  Memorials may be made to: Central United Methodist Church Building Fund – 517 Rock Island, Dalhart, TX  79022.  Online condolences may be left for the family at wwwhorizonfuneral.com.  Horizon Funeral Home in Dalhart, Texas is in charge of arrangements.

Curtis A. Graff was born to R.C (Chester) and Ida (Hanson) Graff on June 7, 1922 near Bancroft, Nebraska.  Curt was a graduate of Bancroft High.  He attended the University of Nebraska, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  Upon returning home Curt farmed the family homestead which was settled by his grandfather.  Curt was a true cattleman.  Over the years he raised Purebred Red Poll, Aberdeen Angus and commercial cattle, along with a small feedlot enterprise.

On December 2, 1949 Curtis married Evelyn Noreen Brown at her family home, near Tilden, Ne.

Curt was a humble man with an un-wavering Christian faith and strong conviction.  He was an active member of the community serving on many boards including the Bancroft school board, Presbyterian Church Session, Extension Board, President of the Cuming County Feeders Assoc., helped to bring the Armour Packing Plant to West Point, Ne, and was active with the 4-H program.  Curt and Evelyn were honored twice as the Farm Family of the Week by WOW-TV in Omaha, NE. Curtis was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, and Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.

In 1979 Curt and Evelyn followed their pioneer spirit and moved with their 2 youngest children to Dalhart TX to farm.  Upon “retiring” from farming in 1994, Curt ranched for 17 years running summer yearlings at ranches in Wyoming and Colorado.  With a heavy heart he held his last round up in 2011, at the age of 89.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn of nearly 66 years; children Chuck (Nancy) Graff of Ogallala, NE; Dixie Fischer of Lincoln, NE; Jean (Pat) Schilckbernd of West Point, NE; Bill (Karen) Graff of Dalhart, TX; and Kari (Greg)Goebel of Fort Worth, TX; 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brother Lyle Graff (Camilla) of Laverne, MN, sister-in-laws Lois Hale and Ann Butterfield of Norfolk, NE, and many nieces and nephews who will miss his thoughtful words of guidance as well as fun tales.

Preceding him in death were his parents; infant son Jay Graff; brother Orin Graff; and sister Marian Macklin.

Lloyd A. Wilkinson, 83 of Fremont NE


Lloyd A. Wilkinson, age 83, of Fremont, Nebraska passed away Monday November 16, 2015 at Nye Point Health and Rehab in Fremont.  Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church.  The Rev. Jon Ashley will officiate.  Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors.  Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Lloyd was born October 12, 1932 in Fremont to Clyde and Mabel ‘Menking’ Wilkinson. He was raised in Arlington, moved to Fremont when he was 10 years old and graduated from Fremont High School in 1950. He served in the National Guard from 1949 until 1962. After high school he went to work for Carlstrom Brothers Construction in Fremont. He worked for them for 32 years then worked for several other contractors and himself before retiring. Lloyd was a great athlete. He loved hockey and had his own children on skates at a very young age. He also loved Cowboy Movies especially John Wayne and country singers Gene Autry and Eddy Arnold.

Lloyd had been a member of the Izaak Walton League and Fraternal Order of the Eagles Arie #200. He had been involved with the Mariners Club at The Presbyterian Church in Fremont.

Lloyd married Jerry Cozad on October 18, 1953 in Red Oak, IA. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2014.

Margaret Conklin, 74, of Tekamah NE


Margaret Lillian Conklin, age 74, passed away November 14, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah following a brief illness.

Margaret was born July 11, 1941 to William and Tillie (Abendroth) Moseman. She was raised on a small farm in Rosalie Nebraska. She graduated from Rosalie High School in 1959.

On May 6, 1960 she was united in marriage to Frank Conklin Jr in Tekamah. They made their home in Tekamah where they raised 3 children: Anna, Robert, and Tania. Throughout her life she worked many different jobs that included driving a school bus for Tekamah-Herman schools for many years. She had a huge love for animals. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, knitting, and many other crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, and daughter Anna.

Survivors include her son, Robert Conklin of Omaha NE; daughter, Tania (Richard) Ullarich; granddaughters Jasmine and Courtney Ullarich all of Norfolk NE; son-in-law, Roger Muhs of Craig, NE; step daughter, Debra Mitchell of Georgia and her children.

Dianne Burt, 66, of Oakland NE


Dianne “Beulah” Burt was born January 14, 1949, in Oakland, Nebraska, to Raymond and Bernice (Nelson) Ahl . She passed away Friday, November 13, 2015, at her home in Oakland, at the age of 66 years.

Dianne graduated from Craig High School, Craig, Nebraska, in 1967.

On August 20, 1977, Dianne and Earl Burt were married at Tekamah, Nebraska. They made their home in Oakland.

Dianne was employed as a waitress for many years at the Corner Café in Oakland, where she receivedthe name “Beulah” as many of you know. After the Corner Cafe closed, she helped out at B & B’s and Quenchers. She also spent a few years working at Nifty Thrifty in Oakland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; two brothers, Steve and Wayne Ahl; sister, Nancy Ahl.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Jernigan of Fremont, NE; stepdaughters, Nicki Burt and Wendi Burt; stepson, Shane Burt; brother, William Ahl of Fremont; stepfather, Loren Hood of Tekamah, NE; stepsister, Lornella Cooper of Texas; sister-in-law, Sally Ahl of Omaha, NE; three grandchildren: Kelsey, Trent and Serenity Jernigan; one great grandchild, Zayble; many nieces and nephews.
