LORNA WEBSTER, 84 years, of Lyons, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Oakland Mercy Hospital in Oakland, Nebraska.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, Janaury 31, 2015, 9:30 am, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lyons.

VISITATION: Friday, 6-8 pm with family receiving friends at Pelan Funeral Services in Lyons. Visitation will also be held at the church one hour prior to service.

BURIAL: Blair Cemetery, Blair, Nebraska

Family and Friends are invited to the family farm (1698 County Road 19), at 1 pm for a gathering following the graveside services in Blair.

passed away on January 26, 2015
at Nye Legacy Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fremont

Marcella “Sally” Williamsen was born to Otto F. and Ida A. (Poppe) Pribnow on January 11th, 1943, in Scribner, NE. Sally grew up on a farm outside of Scribner, NE, graduating from Scribner High School in 1960.
On September 18th, 1960, Sally married Roger Williamsen in Scribner (they were later divorced). Sally and Roger made their home in lots of places, most of the years in a farm south of Craig, NE (Alder Grove) and Craig itself, where they operated an auto repair shop and raised their four children. Sally was employed many years at the Pendleton Mills as a steam press operator. She was also employed as a waitress, bookkeeper, housecleaner, and store clerk over the years. Sally enjoyed sewing, traveling, hunting, and flying. She was an enthusiastic angler, having fished in Alaska, Colorado, Montana, Arkansas, and many other locations. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Ida Pribnow, and sister, Shirley Pribnow.

Sally is survived by her son, Joel (Linda) Williamsen, of Huntsville, AL; daughter Judy (Layne) Gebers, of Clarksville, TN; son Jon Williamsen, of Lyons, NE; and daughter Jenna (Shanon) Morris, of Cedar Bluffs, NE; brother, Otto (Emily) Pribnow, Jr., of Scribner, NE; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Honorary bearers will be her eight grandchildren: Nikkole Gebers, Dustin Gebers, Christopher Williamsen, Jenessa Gebers, David Williamsen, Taylor Williamsen, Daphney Williamsen, and Leo Morris.

There will be no graveside service, instead, a memorial marker will be placed at a later date at Alder Grove Methodist Church where her ashes will be interred.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015, 10:00 AM at United Lutheran Church in Scribner with Rev. Dr. Nicki McIntyre officiating.

Memorial visitation with the family members will be held on Friday, January 30 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, East 23rd Street, Fremont, Nebraska from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.

Dr. Thomas R. Tibbels, 81, of West Point NE

Dr. Thomas R. Tibbels, age 81, of West Point, Nebraska passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Oakland Heights in Oakland, Nebraska. The family will receive guests Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at the Nielsen Center in West Point. A private memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later time. Donations may be made to Oakland Heights Nursing Home, Oakland, NE, West Point Central Catholic High School, John A. Stahl Public Library or a St. Francis Memorial Hospital or a charity of your choice.  Stokely Funeral Home in West Point is in charge of these arrangements.

Tom was born in Omaha, Neb., Jan. 14, 1934, to Randolph (Doc) H and Ethel C. (Winkler) Tibbels, the first of their four children.  He grew up in Oakland, Neb., graduating from Oakland High School in 1952.
He attended the University of Notre Dame from 1952-54, and transferred to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he graduated in 1956 with a degree in history. Before beginning his teaching career, he served as a deputy sheriff on the Winnebago reservation. In fall 1958, he began teaching and coaching at Holy Name Catholic High School, Omaha, Neb.
On Oct. 31, 1959, he married Jacqueline Maybee at Holy Name Catholic Church, Omaha, Neb. They moved to West Point, Neb., in 1960, where he starting teaching and coaching at Guardian Angels High School and they began raising their family.
In fall 1962, he entered the University of Nebraska School of Medicine, following in his father’s footsteps. He completed his residency as a general practitioner at Lincoln General Hospital in 1968 and returned to West Point to join Dr. L.L. Erickson and Dr. Eugene Sucha in private practice at Elkhorn Valley Clinic. He retired from his practice in 1995, renewed his teaching certificate and volunteered at West Point Central Catholic High School where he taught an honors social studies class, developing his own teaching materials steeped in philosophy, history and current events. He also spent time working with the students one on one.
He spent most of his time reading. He had a life-long passion for learning – always reading, always studying – and was an expert in his knowledge of general medicine, philosophy and World War II. His genuine love for the people he cared for in his medical practice and the students he coached and taught fueled this passion. He was also a regular at the local sports events especially enjoying the high school events. At home, his booming laughter will be missed most. With Doc, the bigger his audience the bigger his laugh.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline of West Point; children, Stephen R. (Loretta) Tibbels, Scott (Michelle) Tibbels and Cathy Tibbels all of Omaha, Matt (Theresa) Tibbels of Lincoln, Michael Tibbels of Norfolk and Tracy Tibbels of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Stacey (Toby) Shinaut, Stephanie, Lauren, Danielle, and Nicholas Tibbels; Ben and Aaron Tibbels; Patrick and Nathan Tibbels; Caleb (Donna) Smidt, Elise (Ryan) Kubik and Lexa Bortle. Brothers, Mike (Kay) Tibbels of Norfolk and Terry (Mary Jean) Tibbels of Carlsbad, Calif., and sister, Nancy (Gordon) Englert of Billings, Mt., three great granddaughters, two great grandsons and many nieces and nephews

June Hawk, 67, of Rosalie, NE, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Pender Community Hospital. Funeral services will be Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE; Pastor Gretchen Ritola and Pastor Randall Herman will be officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home of Bancroft, NE are in charge of arrangements.

June was born April 5, 1947 to Edwin and Hilda (Jensen) Kubik in Pender, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE. June graduated from Emerson High School in 1965 and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State College in 1968. On May 5, 1968, she was united in marriage to Donald Sterling Hawk at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE. To this union, two children were born.

While in high school, June worked part time for Kubik’s Corner. While raising her children, she worked at the Village of Rosalie and as a substitute teacher. June taught for Rosalie and later Bancroft-Rosalie Schools for over 40 years. She taught home economics, keyboarding, library, sociology, and independent living. June was also the FCCLA sponsor and assistant speech coach.

June is survived by her children, Monty (Jan) Hawk of Rosalie, NE and Heidi (Ryan) Eichelberger of Beemer, NE and numerous cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Gustin, 76, of Tekamah NE

JACQUELINE “JACKIE” GUSTIN was born October 5, 1938 in Centralia, Washington, to Palmer and Helen (Murphy) Gustin. She passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah, Nebraska, at the age of 76 years.

Jackie volunteered much of her time to the Siena Francis House in Omaha.  In 1997, she became a resident of the Golden Living Center in Tekamah.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

She is survived by a host of family and friends at the Golden Living Center.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Tuesday, February 3, 2015, 1:30 pm, at the Golden Living Center (Dinning Hall), Tekamah, with Rev. Mark Tomasiewicz, Celebrant.

Dennis C. Carlson, 76, of Fremont NE Formerly of Craig NE

DENNIS C. CARLSON was born December 23, 1938 to Clair and Gayle (Garner) Carlson in Craig, Nebraska.  He passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Arbor Manor in Fremont at the age of 76.

Dennis graduated from Craig High School in 1956 and in 1958, he joined the United States Air Force.  Shortly after his discharge, he married Pauline Vanderpool on October 20, 1964, in Sunnymead, California. To this union were born two children, Debbie and Darren.

Dennis was a long a long time employee of Holmquist Grain & Lumber.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda Villwok; brothers, Rodney and Terry Carlson.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pauline of Fremont, NE; children, Debbie (Andrew) Winslow of Omaha, NE, Darren Carlson of Pinellas Park, FL; 2 grandsons, Darren Samuel Carlson and Jude Garreth Jay Winslow; brother, Jim Carlson of Fremont, sisters-in-law, Judy Carlson of Andover, KS, Donna Carlson of Miniature, NE; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Coletta J. Hilbers, 86, of Hooper NE

Coletta J. Hilbers, age 86, of Hooper, Nebraska passed away Friday, January 23, 2015. at the Hooper Care Center in Hooper, Nebraska.  Funeral services will be Monday, January 26th, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Hooper.  The Rev. Judith Johnson will officiate. The committal will be in the St. Paul’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ludvigsen’s Hooper Funeral Chapel. Coletta was born February 21, 1928, in Hooper to Fred and Loretta (Boell) Ott. She was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Hooper. She graduated from Hooper High School in 1945. Following her graduation, she attended commercial school in Omaha where she stayed and worked as a bookkeeper until she married Elmer Hilbers on February 13, 1949. She and Elmer lived on the family farm north of Hooper where they raised their daughter Jane. In 2008, Coletta moved to the Elkhorn Valley Villa in Scribner until she moved to the Hooper Care Center in 2014.

Coletta was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Throughout her time as a member she held roles as the senior-choir director, choir member, children’s-choir director, Sunday-school teacher, Bible-school teacher, and VBS helper in the kitchen. She was also a member of the Women of the ELCA and Extension Club. Coletta belonged to a pinnacle club for over sixty years. She enjoyed playing all sorts of card games with family and friends and enjoyed going out to eat with Elmer every Saturday night. She also enjoyed playing piano and attempted to teach all of her grandchildren to play. She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, bowling, playing golf, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Coletta enjoyed embroidering various items for her family members and doing craft projects with her grandchildren.

Coletta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Steve Flores; sister-in-law Nancy Ott; four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in law.

Survivors include her daughter, Jane Flores of Hooper; brother, Larry Ott of Phillipsburg, KS; five grandchildren: Brian Flores, Becky (James) Sells, Stacey (Shawn) Smith, Barb Flores, and Laura Flores; six great-grandchildren: Breanna, Ellie, Jacob, and Tessa Smith, Liam Odoms, and John Sells; and many nieces and nephew
