There were 8 girls from Lyons-Decatur Northeast high school choir went to Humphrey Public School, on November 11,2013 . They left at 10:30. It was very cold and snowy. It took about an hour and a half to get there.

There were 17 high school choirs that attended, and about two hundreds students in one gym. They practiced the whole afternoon with three breaks before the concert . The clinician, Dr. Elise Hepworth was really nice and fun for the students to learn from. She teach in Wayne State College, she has taught the students many singing skills. Everyone really enjoyed the concert. The songs that were  sang were; Give Us Hope, Home, America the Beautiful, Star Spangled Banner, Carry On My Wayward Son, Cups and Praise His Name, with an encore for Praise His Name. Over all the day was very enjoyable and was very fun filled.

LDNE to Perform One-Act Play

“Drama Geeks vs. Zombie Cheerleaders”

The Drama Club notices that their biggest rivals, the Cheerleaders, are acting unusual. They’re beginning to smell, and they seem to have an odd taste for human flesh…yup, they’ve turned into zombies. With the big Homecoming game approaching, Head Zombie-Cheerleader Peaches (played by sophomore Mickayla Peterson) organizes her undead followers to plan a feast on the rest of the school. It’s up to the Drama Geeks (Brent Miller, Abby Petersen, Tessie Collins, Jesse Mutum, Martin Long, and Darcey Simonsen) to use their gift for dramatic flair to slay their rivals. Can a ragtag band of over-dramatic misfits defeat the zombies-and save the world-before it’s too late? “Drama Geeks vs. Zombie Cheerleaders” written by Kathryn Walat is a 30 minute comedy put on by the LDNE high school drama club.

Our public performance is November 22 at 7PM. Admission is 3$. All proceeds go towards the LDNE Drama Club. In addition, we host EHC One-Act Competition onNovember 26th from 9am-3pm. LDNE performs at 9:45. Other schools involved are Clarkson, Howells-Dodge, Humphrey, Pender, Scribner-Snyder, and Bancroft-Rosalie. Admission is free. If you are available, we would love for you to come sit during our morning performance to cheer on the home team! Districts will be held in Osceola, NE on December 4th. Times are not yet available.
