KENNETH C. SEARS, 93 years, of Fremont, formerly of Lyons, Nebraska,
KENNETH CLYDE SEARS was born August 21, 1919, in Lyons, Nebraska, to Clyde and Lillian (Andersen) Sears. He passed away Thursday August 1, 2013, at Shalimar Gardens Assisted Living in Fremont, Nebraska.
Kenneth grew up in Lyons and graduated from Lyons High School in 1938. He attended Midland College in Fremont for two years. He obtained his pilot license in Fremont and joined the Army Air Corps shortly after the start of World War II and was honorably discharged in October 1945.
On July 23, 1943, Kenneth married Frances Mae Connealy. She passed away August 3, 1978. He married Katie Ellenwood April 18, 1981. She passed away December 31, 1999.
Kenneth was co-owner of Paine & Sears Hardware and Plumbing Store for twenty years and then served as Postmaster in Lyons until he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Frances and Katie; sisters, Anna Paine and Ruth Hillstrom.
Survivors include his two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Martin and Charleen Sears of Fremont, Ernie and Suzie Sears of Omaha; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Wednesday, August 7, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Lyons; Rev. Scott Jensen, officiating.
