Erna Marie Louise (Henschke) Bottger, 90, of Wayne, Nebraska passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne, NE. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wakefield, NE; with Pastor Terry Makelin officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield, NE with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Wakefield City Cemetery in Wakefield, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield, NE.

Erna was born March 10, 1925 to Adolph and Dora (Frevert) Henschke in rural Wakefield, NE. On March 3, 1945 she married Erwin Bottger at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in rural Wakefield. She sold Avon products and worked as a cook at the Thurston School. Erna enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, painting, cleaning, writing and sending letters, and talking on the phone. She also enjoyed cooking and traveling to see other parts of the country. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Erna is survived by her grandchildren, Lori (Ron) Obermeyer of Sioux Falls, SD and their children Kody and Kyra Obermeyer, Gary Anderson of Lincoln, NE, Mindy (Richard) Staveteig of Thompson, ND, and their children Christopher and Lincoln Staveteig, Kassi (Tyler) Bayless of Seattle, WA; brother, Paul (Arlene) Henschke of Wayne, NE; son-in-law, Jerry Anderson of Wakefield, NE; and many nieces and nephews.

Erna is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Erwin Bottger, and daughter, Edith Anderson.

Dorothy was born November 9, 1924 to John and Cecil (Robinson) Potter in Ulysses, NE. She graduated from Allen High School. Dorothy married Raymond Brownell on April 14 1946, and they blessed this marriage by adopting two children. Dorothy was a full time farm wife and stay at home mother. She was a member of the Sand Hills Club, the Allen United Methodist Church, and the Ladies Aid. Dorothy was also a Rosie Riveter. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, and traveling.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Chriss) Brownell of Cedar Rapids, IA; daughter, Pamela (Keith) Simonsen of Lincoln, NE; grandchild, Matthew (Julia) Brownell of Vinton, IA, great grandchildren, Katelan, Brittney, Jordyn, and Tanner Brownell of Vinton, IA, and numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, cousins, and friends.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two infant sons, brothers, brothers-in-law, and sister-in-law.

Mable was born September 10, 1919 to Everett and Minnie (Smith) Harbison in Circle, MT. She grew up in rural Bloomfield, NE and graduated from Bloomfield High School. Mable attended Wayne State College and received a teaching degree. She taught in Knox and Cedar counties in rural schools. Mable married Albert Johnson on September 24, 1949 at the Methodist Church in Wasau, NE and the couple had three children. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Mable loved reading, gardening, and caring for her family.

She is survived by Arnold Johnson of Laurel, NE, LaVerle (Nancy) Johnson of Laurel, NE, and Doug Johnson; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Mable is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert, and sister-in-law, Esther Johnson.

Richard W. “Woody” Frye, 68, of Wayne, NE died on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his home in Wayne after a long illness. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. Burial will be held at a later date in Goobertown, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Richard was born on July 17, 1947 in Peoria, IL, the son of Clifford and Jewel (Adams) Frye. At an early age, the family moved to California, where he graduated from High School from Gilroy, CA. He began working with National Fiberglass. The job brought him to Wayne, Nebraska on the early 1970’s. He later worked with Great Dane Trailers until his health forced him to retire in 2012. Richard had a love for music. At an early age he played with his family in a band. He also enjoyed telling jokes and playing cards. Most of all he loved his family.

He is survived by his son, Eric (Katie) Frye and their children Devon and Alexis of Wayne, NE; daughters Tina (Randy) Weaver and their children Justin and Jacob of Colorado Springs, CO and Makayla Sternberg and her son Hunter of Wayne, NE. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law Bobbie Frye of Atwater, CA and JoAnn Frye of Wayne, NE.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and Jack Frye.
