Marcella “Sally” Rennerfeldt, 88, of West Point NE


Marcella “Sally” Rennerfeldt, age 88, of West Point, Nebraska passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Fremont Health Medical Center.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30am on Thursday, April 21 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Steve Emanuel as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s with lunch following at the Nielsen Center. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00pm to 7:00pm with Guild Rosary at 1:30pm and Vigil Service at 7:00pm all at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Masses or for later designation by the family.

Marcella Marie Rennerfeldt was born on February 3, 1928 to Leona Wolken in West Point. Sally was raised by her mother, Leona, and stepfather, Clifford Davis, and graduated from Guardian Angels in 1945. On September 12, 1950, Sally married Harland Rennerfeldt at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother to their four children. At the age of 65, Sally began her iconic 22 year employment at McDonald’s where she was an original employee. Her cheerful face and warm heart will be missed by every customer.

Sally was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild, and spearheaded St. Mary’s Bingo. She loved card games, bingo, and going to the casino. Most of all, Sally relished the time she spent with her family.

Sally is survived by her son Gary (Anna) Rennerfeldt of Dakota Dunes, SD; daughters Diane (Greg) Wermers of Fremont, NE, Donna (Gene “Joe”) Murphy of Brentwood, CA, and Deb (Mike) Dreher of Norfolk; grandchildren Gina (Chad) Taylor, Lisa (Zak) Klein, Kim Hadcock, Mark Hadcock, Kari (Tom) Ramseth, Amy (Drew) Gaschler, Tommy Murphy, Heather Rennerfeldt, Michael Rennerfeldt, Matt Dreher, Emily Dreher, and Jeremy Dreher; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harland, in 2012.

Walter “Eddie” Roder, 71, of Fremont NE


Walter “Eddie” Roder was born February 17, 1945 to Herman and Dealia (Breakey) Roder in Madison, South Dakota. He passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Fremont Health Medical Center in Fremont, Nebraska, at the age of 71.

Eddie attended several different schools, graduating from Ypsilanti High School in North Dakota. He served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. After the Army, Walter worked for Nielsen Rating in Lincoln and Omaha Nebraska for 35-40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sisters; two nieces.

He is survived by his brother, Carl Roder of Moorhead, MN; sisters, Nora Moe and Ramona Jimison of Spring Green, WI, Rita Laux of Granite Falls, MN; 27 nieces and nephews and extended families.

Visitation will be held Fri., March 4th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Services in Tekamah.

The Funeral Service is Fri., March 4th at 2:00 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Services in Tekamah.

Burial is in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Vernon L. Frandsen, 86, of Fremont Formerly of the Uehling Area


Vernon L. ‘Big Dane’ Frandsen, age 86 of Fremont, formerly of the Uehling area passed away Wednesday February 3 at Fremont Health Medical Center.  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Uehling Auditorium. The Rev. Mark Eldal will officiate. Burial will follow in the Elim Lutheran Cemetery in Swaburg with Military Honors. Visitation will be Sunday with the family receiving friends from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue for one hour before the service in Uehling. Vernon was born in Kennard, Nebraska on September 7, 1929 to Lars and Johanna ‘Cook’ Frandsen. He grew up in several small communities in the Uehling area. He graduated from Uehling High School in 1948. After high school he drove a truck for several different companies. In 1951 Vernon joined the Army and served until 1953. He married Jane A. Von Essen in 1953 and after their marriage they lived on a farm near Swaburg until 1963. They moved to a farm near Hooper and lived there for 2 years before moving to the Von Essen home place. Vernon retired in 1991 and the couple moved to Fremont. After retirement, Vernon continued to assist Galen Johnson on his farm.

 

Vernon was a member of Uehling American Legion Post 196, Uehling Lions Club and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Uehling. Vernon and Jane were members of the same card club for over 60 years. While living in Fremont they would attend First Lutheran Church.

Margie VerLee Wickstrom, 73, of Oakland NE


Margie VerLee Wickstrom was born to Irvin and Margie (Wegner) Greenfield on November 3, 1941 in rural Bancroft, Nebraska.  She passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Fremont Health Medical Center in Fremont, Nebraska.

VerLee grew up on a farm outside of Bancroft, graduating from High School in 1959.

On January 22, 1960, VerLee was married to Emory Wickstrom in Elk Point, South Dakota.

VerLee and Emory made their home in Oakland, where they raised their four children.

VerLee was employed in the healthcare field in Oakland, Lyons and West Point, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin J and Margie A. Greenfield; brother, Rocknie L. Greenfield.

She is survived by her husband, Emory Wickstrom, of Oakland; son, Nick (Suzie) Wickstrom, of Ann Arbor, MI; daughter, Linda (Joel) Williamsen, of Huntsville, AL; son, Tom (Michelle) Wickstrom, of Omaha, NE; son, Darin Wickstrom, of Lincoln, NE; brothers, Marlin (Kathy) Greenfield of Uehling, NE Marvin (Mary) Greenfield of Bancroft, NE; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
