Golden Oaks Senior Center in Oakland NE will be having their annual rummage sale Thurs., April 30th from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and on Fri., May 1st from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Their Wimmers hot dog bar fundraiser is on Thurs., April 30th from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Construction of a new pool in Lyons, a new Dollar Store in Oakland, May election, Memorial Day flags going up, a pole being replaced from an accident, library and Golden Oaks activities also topped the list of events in 2014. It is time for our annual “Chicken & Biscuit” Fundraiser. It will be on Sept. 16th from 11-1:00 and we will have takeouts available. Please join us for dinner.
We will begin the Medicare Part D enrollment process in October. The enrollment dates are Oct. 15th thru Dec. 7th. Please watch for more info next month or you may call us at 402-685-5146.

Thanks to all who supported our fundraiser. We appreciate all the volunteers who help make it a success and those that came to eat with us.
Our monthly caregivers support group will meet on Aug. 25th at 11:30 a.m., dinner will be provided.
The book club will also meet on Aug. 25th at 1:30 and they will be discussing”Aprons” this month. Please join the group.
Foot clinic will be on Aug. 27th at 1:00 .Hearing clinic on the 28th at 1:00 and the Home Health nurses will be here for blood pressure at 1:30 on the 28th . Birthday party will follow.

Golden Oaks Senior Center in Oakland, NE had a fundraiser sale on Thursday and Friday, May 1st and 2nd. This event assists in supporting the center that many senior citizens in the area attend daily. There were many items brought in my members of the community to be sold with profits going to the center. “It has been very busy each day,” stated Hilda Benne, who was the cashier during the event. Golden Oaks has many other fundraisers throughout the year, such as luncheons, that are open to the public. Stop in Golden Oaks and visit. Coffee time is 3:00 p.m. daily.
