Friday saw corn rally 4 cents to end the week with soybeans finishing mixed, with a strong closing 5 minutes ahead of option expiration giving soybeans some follow through Sunday night
-Crop condition ratings should show 1-2% lower good/excellent with some areas underwater, or showing signs of too much water. Weather continues to look good, with chances for rains and a warmup that should aid plant growth
-Monday, June 30th is the USDA quarterly stocks and acreage report, look for some positioning this week

-June 30th will give us an update on June 1st quarterly stocks, telling us what is on farm & in commercial storage as of June 1st. This will tell us how much actual demand we have had the past quarter

-Overnight markets are higher, with corn+2-3 and old beans +8

 

Corn +1 ½ @4.40 ¼

New Unchanged @ 4.39 ½

 

Beans +14 ¾  @14.13

New +2 @ 12.14

-Yesterday corn lost most of Friday’s gains while soybeans finished higher

-Crop conditions came in with corn down 1% at 75% G/E for the US. NE was down 6% due to the hail storm.

-Soybean conditions were 74% Good/Excellent. NE was at 69%.

-Overnight corn is 1-3 higher with soybeans 1-2 higher

-USDA’s monthly Supply & Demand report will be Wednesday at 11:00

Overnight markets were weaker with good rains across much of the US growing areas over the weekend

-Friday saw liquidation in corn and a lower close in soybeans to close out the month of May.

-Corn is needing some positive news as currently growing conditions are very good and the crop was planted in a timely manner
