Honoring Those That Gave and Give Their All


Lauree Lenz, daughter of  the late Lyons native Marvin Sundquist, attended the Memorial Day Program in Lyons, giving the invocation and benediction speeches. She also joined George Fritts from the Honor Guard in the Placing of the Wreaths.

Memorial Day in Lyons, NE


Memorial Day honors those serving and have served to protect the rights and freedoms of the United States of America. In honor of their service to America, the Lyons VFW marched down Lyons Main Street at the beginning of the Memorial Day Service held in Lyons today. Thank you for your service and all of those that have served and are serving to keep the United States of America the glorious country that it is today!

Police Officer’s Memorial Day


Today is Police Officer’s Memorial Day in honor of police officers who gave their lives while on duty. Please show your respect and appreciation for police officers all over the country, not just today, but everyday!

Tomorrow is: Lost Sock Memorial Day, which recognizes a drawer full of unmatched socks. Each unmatched sock represents a missing sock. We never throw away our unmatched socks. After all, it may show up someday.
