Oakland-Craig blasted Crofton Friday night, scoring 34 unanswered points.
“I thought we did a good job of cleaning things up this week. We really minimized our penalties and turnovers this week,” stated head coach Joe Anderson.
Nick Arlt led the way scoring five touch down, four rushing and one receiving, earning 296 yards total for the evening.
“Cody Mace really stepped up his game this week, which allowed us to open up the passing game more this week. Nick had another great game, as our line got great push up front, and when you give Nick a seem he can turn it into a big play,” Anderson said.
Leading the way defensively was Conner Thiele with eleven tackles, followed by Joel Johnson with seven and Tommy Nelson with six.
“I thought our defense did a good job of shutting down their offense most of the night. Conner Thiele again had another great game at linebacker,” Anderson stated.
Oakland-Craig is ranked sixth and is taking on Ponca this Friday night in Ponca at 7:00 p.m.
“We need to continue to improve as district play starts this week. In order to guarantee yourself a playoff spot, we know you have to win our district and Ponca is one of the stronger teams in our district,” Anderson said.
