This week on Thursday October 8th at 2:30 pm Charlie Davis will be here to play his harmonica. Next week on Tuesday October 13 at 2:30 PM we will be serving a fall treat, Apple Cider and pumpkin Donuts. Then on Thursday October 15th is the monthly Waffle Supper, serving from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm.

We have a few residents celebrating their birthday this week and next, Joan Pullen on October 10th, Margaret Benne on the 15th and Marcella Hennig on the 17th.

Church Service for October 11 at 2:30 pm will be given by Salem Covenant Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Tuesday at 9:30 am is Catholic Mass given by Father Paul, and on Wednesday October 14th is communion with Pastor Hoden at 1:00 pm.

Activities for the week of October 12th to October 17th, are as followed,  Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Trivia, Sing a Long, Coffee an Conversation, Bingo w/Evang. Free, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, Crafts, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Friday Bingo, Nebraska Football, and Saturday morning movie.

Volunteers signing in last week were; Marilyn Baker, Judy Nelson, Betty Hanna,   Mary Donavon, Marge Maller, Dani Moseman, Nadine Anderson , Di Ruwe, Lola Bridgeford, and Sly Rouse.

Guests’ signing in the guest book last week was: Lynn Goracke and Janelle Van Scoy to see Dale and Jeanette Johnson. Also visiting was Erica and Andrea Marburger, Gene and Naoma Quist.

Activity Memorial Fund

We have started a new month this week and to kick it off we will be showing the Nebraska Football Game on Saturday October 3rd at 2:30 pm. Then on Monday October 5th is our monthly Volunteer Executive meeting at 2:30 pm, on Thursday October 8th Charlie Davis will be here to play the Harmonica.

Church Service for Oct.4th at 2:30 pm will be given by St. John Lutheran Church with a luncheon served afterwards. There has been a change for Communion with Pastor Hoden it has been canceled for this week and moved to next week October 14th.

Activities for the week of October 5th   to October 10th , are as followed,  Reading with Marilyn, Game Day, Sing a Long, Reading Group, Bingo w/WOW, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Friday Bingo, Nebraska Football, and Saturday morning movie.

This week we have a few changes to the activity schedule due to a virus our normal volunteer activities have been canceled, but our expectations are that we will resume our normal activity schedule next week.

On Monday September 28th is the monthly resident council meeting at 2:30pm, on Wednesday September 30th is a Puttin on the Ritz dinner at 11:30 am. We also start a new month next week and on Saturday October 3rd is a Nebraska Football Game, times and channels have not been announced yet.

Church Service for Sept.27th at 2:30 pm will be given by First Lutheran Church with a luncheon served afterwards.

Activities for the week of September 28th to October 3rd , are as followed,  Reading with Marilyn, Trivia Day, Sing a Long, Reading Group, Bingo w/VFW, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, Word Games, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Friday Bingo, Nebraska Football, and Saturday morning movie.

This week we have Charlie Davis coming on Thursday September 10th at 2:30 pm. And on Saturday September 12th we will be showing the Nebraska Football game at 7:00 pm on the Big Ten Network. On Sunday September 13th is Grandparents Day and we will be having our annual Grandparents Day Potluck at noon, we invite the residents family members to come and have a potluck dinner with them, as it is a potluck we encourage family members to bring a dish. Next week on Monday September 14th is our monthly Volunteer Ex. Meeting at 2:30 pm; on Tuesday September 15th we will be going to Golden Oaks for their Potluck Dinner at 11:30 am. Next week we also have our monthly Waffle Supper on Thursday September 17th serving from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm.

Our birthdays that coming up are Tiny Bacon on the 11th, Jene Hightree on the 16th, and a Special Birthday for Lorna Olson on the 19th she will be turning 100 years old.

There will be no Church Service on Sunday the 13th due to the Grandparents Day Potluck dinner.

We have a couple of events to mention going on this week, on Thursday September 3 is Teresa Egbers 30 year Employee Anniversary party at 2:30 pm and on Saturday is the start of the Nebraska Football season, we will be showing the game at 2:30 pm, it is Nebraska vs. BYU., also this weekend is the start of the Labor day weekend.

Next week on Monday September 7th is Labor Day; there will be no Monday activities for this day. On Thursday September 10th Charlie Davis will be here to play the Harmonica. We have a resident celebrating a birthday next week, Happy Birthday to Tiny Bacon on September 11th.

Church Service for Sept. 6th at 2:30 pm will be given by Craig/Alder Grove Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Tuesday at 9:30 am is Catholic Mass given by Father Paul.

We have one week of August left and next week we start September.

Next week on Monday August 31st is our monthly Resident Council meeting at 2:30 pm. We also have a staff member Teresa Egbers she will be celebrating 30 years of employment at Oakland Heights, we are having a Party for her on Thursday September 3rd at 2:30 pm. And we kick off the Nebraska Football season on Saturday September 5th we will be showing the game that starts at 2:30 pm.

Church Service for August 30th at 2:30 pm will be given by Craig/Alder Grove Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Wednesday September 2nd at 1:00 pm is Communion with Pastor Hoden.

We had a nice time down at the fair on Monday morning, the weather cooperated with us. On Saturday August 15th at 2:30 pm the Rusty Buckets will be here to perform. Next week we have a fun line up, on Tuesday August 18th we will be going to Golden Oaks for their noon potluck dinner and also that day we have the Gary Weldon Show at 2:30 pm then on Thursday August 20th is our monthly Waffle Supper serving from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Also next week we have a couple of birthdays to mention, celebrating a birthday on August 16th is Lois Anderson then on August 22nd is Iva Anderson’s Birthday.

Church Service for August 16th at 2:30 pm will be given by First Baptist Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Monday August 16th at 2:30 pm is communion with First Lutheran.

Activities for the week of August 17th to August 22nd , are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Sing a Long, Bingo w/Salem, game day, Bible Fellowship, Word Games, Reading the Local Paper, Trivia, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Friday Bingo and Saturday morning movie.

We would like to wish Ann Gahan a Happy Birthday on August 6th , there will be a 2:30 pm Coffee and Cake for her on Thursday with residents being invited to come. Next Monday August 10th we will taking the resident at 9:00 am to go down to the fair grounds to the Methodist Kitchen to have pie and coffee, and to tour the exhibits. On Thursday August 13th Charlie Davis will be here at 2:30 pm to play his Harmonica.

Church Service for August 9th at 2:30 pm will be given by Evang. Free Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Tuesday August 11th at 9:30 am is Catholic Mass with Father Paul.

Activities for the week of August 10th to August 15th , are as followed:  Reminiscing Group, Sing a Long, Bingo w/Evang. Free, Reading Group, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Friday Bingo and Saturday morning movie.

This week we have our monthly Waffle Supper on Thursday July 23rd, serving from 5:30 to 6:00 pm. Next week is the monthly Resident Council Meeting on Monday July 27th at 2:30 pm. On Tuesday July 28th we will be serving Bomb pops on the patio at 2:30 pm. Thursday we will be having the General Store open for the residents from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm., then on Friday July 31st we will be having a salad Luncheon for the Residents at 11:30 pm. We also have two residents with birthdays next week Lavern Johnson on July 27th and Joan Price on July 31st Happy Birthday to both.

Church Service for July 26th at 2:30 pm will be given by First Lutheran Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Tuesday July 28th at 9:30 am is Catholic Mass by Father Paul.

Activities for the week of July 27th to August 1st , are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Sing a Long, Bingo w/VFW Aux., Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, Friday Bingo, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Saturday morning movie and Lawrence Welk.
