May is here and what a fun month we have planned for this month during National Nursing Home week. On Monday May 4^th is our Volunteer Ex. Meeting at 2:30pm. On Friday May 8^th at 2:30 pm is a 15 year Employee Anniversary Party for Betty Hasenkamp.

Church Service for May 3rd at 2:30 pm will be given by the First Baptist Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Wednesday May 6^th at 1:00 pm is Communion with Pastor Hoden.

Activities for the week of May 4^th to May 9th , are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Sing a Long, Game Day, Reading Group, Bingo w/LCW, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, Word Games, Let’s Play Ball, Friday Bingo, and Saturday morning movie.

Volunteers signing in last week were; Judy Nelson, Betty Hanna, Donnie Baldwin, Patty Miller, Mary Donavon, Anne Anderson, Mary Alice Pearson, Pat Anderson, Di Ruwe, Judee Dix, Dani Moseman, Seth Anderson, Lola Bridgeford, Nadine Anderson, and Sly Rouse.

Guest signing in this past week were; Jane Neitzke and Chuck and Celia Neitzke to see Wilma Neitzke.

It’s was nice to see everyone up here for the Volunteer appreciation coffee that we had last Saturday, and I would like to thank Collin Warren for the entertainment he provided. This week on Thursday April 16^th is the monthly Waffle supper serving from 5:30pm to 6:00pm. On Saturday April 18^th the Rusty Buckets will be here at 2:30pm.

Next Week on Tuesday April 21^st is funny hat day and at 2:30pm we will be having Banana floats. And on Thursday April 23^rd we will be having the General Store opened for the resident from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

Church Service for April 19^th at 2:30 pm will be given by St. John Lutheran Church with a luncheon served afterwards.

Activities for the week of April 20^th to April 24th , are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Reminiscing Group, Sing a Long, Coffee and Conversation, Bingo w/Methodist, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper,     Let’s Play Ball, Friday Bingo, and Saturday morning movie.

We have a very special event coming up this week, on Saturday April 11^th is our Volunteer Appreciation Coffee from to 2pm to 4pm, along with Colin Warren playing the piano, it is for anyone who volunteers their time and comes up to enlighten the lives of our residents please come so that we may show you how much you are appreciated. We also would like to wish a Happy Birthday to Carolyn Lutes on April 12^th.

Next week we will be going to Golden Oaks potluck dinner on Tuesday April 14^th at 11:15 pm. On Thursday April 16^th is our monthly Waffle Supper at 5:30 pm and on Saturday April 18^th at 2:30pm the Rusty Buckets will be her to perform and also on Saturday from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm is the OC High School Prom walk through, so all OC Juniors and Seniors are invited to come walk through and show off their Prom outfits to the residents.

Church Service for April 12^th at 2:30 pm will be given by the First Lutheran Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Tuesday April 14^th at 9:30am is Catholic Mass with Father Paul.

Happenings at the Heights

We would like to thank first National Bank for sponsoring the Gary Weldon show. The residents sure enjoyed having him do the entertainment for the St. Patrick’s party.

Activities for the week of March 23rd to March 28th are: Reading with Marilyn, manicures, reading group, sing-a-long, Catholic Mass, crafts, bingo with Methodist Church, game day, bible fellowship, word games and the Easter Bazaar from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27th.

We have a couple of announcements for this week on Thursday March 12^th from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm we will have the general store for residents. On Friday March 13^th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm is the Oakland Heights Relay for Life team Walkin and a Wheelin towards a cure Salad Luncheon fundraiser at the Rosen Room, city auditorium. Next week on Tuesday March 17^th is the St. Patrick’s Day Party with entertainment by Gary Weldon. Then on Thursday March 19^th is the monthly Waffle Supper and the Rusty Buckets will be here on Saturday March 21^st at 2:30pm.

Church Service for Sunday March 15^th at 2:30 pm will be given by the First Baptist Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Monday March 16^th is Communion with First Lutheran at 2:30pm.

Activities for the week of March 16^th to March 21st are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Sing a Long, Bingo w/ Salem Covenant, Bible Fellowship, Word Games, Friday Bingo, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Saturday morning movie, Rusty Buckets, and Lawrence Walk.

We have three birthday’s this week Mildred Moseman on March 2^nd, Bertha Mellor, and Don Heaffner on March 6^th Happy Birthday to all. Next week is a busy week on Tuesday March 10^th we will be going to Golden Oaks for the noon potluck, (weather permitting), also at 2:30 pm is our Ugly Tie Contest and Root beer floats. On Thursday March 12^th is the general store from 1:30 to 3:30 for the residents to come and do some shopping. On Friday March 13^th is the Oakland Heights Relay for life team’s Salad Luncheon at the Rosen Room from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Also a reminder next weekend we return to daylights saving time on Sunday March 8^th.

Church Service for Sunday March 8th at 2:30 pm will be given by the Salem Covenant Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Tuesday March 10^th at 9:30 am is Catholic Mass given by Father Paul.
