Hope everyone had a nice Father’s Day, lots of events going on this past weekend. This week on Thursday June 25th is the Puttin on the Ritz Salad Luncheon for the residents at 11:30 am. Next week on Monday June 29th is the resident Council meeting at 2:30 pm. Also Next week is the beginning of a new month. On Monday June 29th is the monthly resident council meeting at 2:30 pm on Wednesday July 1st at 2:30 pm is Root beer floats then on Friday July 3rd we invite residents and anyone who would like to come up and watch the Fireworks from our front parking lot at dusk, bring your lawn chairs.

Church Service for June 28th at 2:30 pm will be given by First Baptist Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Tuesday June 30th at 9:30 am is Catholic Mass by Father Paul. And on Wednesday July 1st is communion with Pastor Hoden a 1:00 pm.

Activities for the week of June 29th to July 4th , are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Game Day, Sing a Long, Bingo w/WOW, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, Crafts, Friday watching fireworks , Saturday morning movie and Lawrence Welk.

Volunteers signing in last week were; Judy Nelson, Betty Hanna, Bonnie Patty Miller, Judee Dix, Anne Anderson, Dani Moseman, and Sly Rouse.

Guest signing in last week was: Lynn Goracke to see Dale and Jeanette Johnson and Ro and Mary Plageman to see Dorothy Larson.

We have a couple of changes to the activities this week. Catholic mass has been rescheduled for June 16th and June 30th of this month. Wednesday June 10th at 2:30 p.m. we will be having s’mores on the patio (weather permitting). Next week we have several events to mention. Tuesday June 16th at 2:30 p.m. is Karen Cookman’s 10 year Employee Anniversary Party. On Wednesday June 17th, Michelle Rosco and family will be here to perform at 2:30 p.m., this was a schedule change. Thursday June 18th is the monthly Waffle supper from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, the Oakland Heights relay for life team will be going to Craig for the annual Relay for Life event.  Saturday June 20th the Rusty Buckets will be here at 2:30 pm. We have a resident celebrating a Birthday next week, Iona Long on June 15th.

Church Service for June 14th at 2:30 p.m. will be given by Salem Covenant Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Monday at 2:30 p.m. is Communion with First Lutheran and on Tuesday June 16th at 9:30 a.m. is Catholic Mass by Father Paul.

Activities for the week of June 15th to June 20th, are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures,  Sing a Long, Bingo w/Salem, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, Word Games,   Let’s Play Ball, Friday Bingo and Saturday morning movie.

Next week on Tuesday June 9th we will be going to Golden Oaks for their noon Potluck dinner. On Thursday June 11th Charlie Davis will be here to play his Harmonica at 2:30 pm. We have a residents Birthday next week, celebrating her birthday on June 10th is Virginia Simpson.

Church Service for June 7th at 2:30 pm will be given by First Lutheran Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Tuesday June 9th at 9:30 am is Catholic Mass by Father Paul.

Activities for the week of June 8th to June 13th , are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Game Day, Reminiscing Group, Game Day, Sing a Long, Bingo w/Evang. Free, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Friday Bingo and Saturday morning movie.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend, had to do a little dodging rain drops. We start a new month next week, with our Volunteer Executive meeting at 2:30 pm Monday June 1st. On Wednesday June 3rd at 2:30 pm Michelle Rosco and Family will be here to perform for us.

Church Service for May 30th at 2:30 pm will be given by Elim Lutheran Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Wednesday June 3rd at 1:00 pm is Communion with Pastor Hoden.

Activities for the week of June 1st to June 5th , are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Game Day, Sing a Long, Bingo w/WOW, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, Crafts, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Friday Bingo and Saturday morning movie.

The residents and staff enjoyed all the fun activities last week in celebration of National Nursing Home Week. Thank you to all who had a part in making that week so memorable.

Activities for the week of May 21st to May 27th are: Bible Fellowship, local paper, word games, waffle supper, Let’s Play Ball, crafty cooking , bingo, movie, coffee hour, Lawrence Welk, Church tape, Church Service with United Methodist, sing a long, one on ones, resident council meeting, bingo with Methodist, care plans and reading group. Monday, May 25th is Memorial Day and there are no activities scheduled. 

Waffle supper is Thurs., May 21st at 5:30 p.m.

National Nursing Home Week at Oakland Heights

We have one event I would like to mention for this week on Friday May 8th at 2:30pm is Betty Hasenkamp 15 year Anniversary party. On Sunday Mary 10th is Mother’s Day, on Monday May 11th is the start of National Nursing Home Week the theme this year is Bring on the Fiesta, at 2:30 pm we will start the celebration with our Mother’s Day Tea Party with entertainment by Mary Goff. On Tuesday May 12th is Trivia Day we will be having trivia questioned asked throughout the day for Residents and staff also, at 2:30pm is the Limbo Contest and Nacho Bar. Wednesday May 13th is Cowboy Day starting with a Chuck wagon dinner meal at 11:30 am and at 2:30 pm is country music by Billy Troy followed by Coffee and Cow Patties. Thursday May 14th is our Fiesta Day starting with an 11:30 am Taco Salad Bar for dinner and at 2:30 pm Sombrero Toss Game and Churros. On Friday May 15th is Baseball Day we will have a Let’s Play Ball Tournament with Staff and Residents at 10:00 am and in the afternoon at 2:30 Staff and Residents get to take a swing at some Piñatas and serving Fruit Plate. On Saturday May 16th Rusty Buckets will be here to perform at 2; 30 pm.

Church Service for May 10th at 2:30 pm will be given by Evangelical Free Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Tuesday May 12th there will be Catholic Mass at 9:30 am given by Father Paul.

Activities for the week of May 11th to May 16th, are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Sing a Long, Bingo w/Evang. Free, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, and Saturday morning movie.

May is here and what a fun month we have planned for this month during National Nursing Home week. On Monday May 4th is our Volunteer Ex. Meeting at 2:30pm. On Friday May 8th at 2:30 pm is a 15 year Employee Anniversary Party for Betty Hasenkamp.
