There are a couple of activities for this week I would like to mention, we will be having the General Store for the residents on Thursday January 22nd from 1:30pm to 3:30 pm. On Friday morning January 23rd at 8:00 am the residents will be served Breakfast pizza for their Puttin on the Ritz meal for this month. Next week on Monday January 26th at 2:30 pm is the Resident monthly Council meeting. On Thursday January 29th at 2:30 we will be having a Snowman Party for the residents. We also have many residents celebrating their birthdays next week, starting with Delores Carlson January 27th, Lillian Mueller January 28th, Helen Jean Nelson on January 29th and Margaret Moderow on January 31st, Happy Birthday to all.

Church Service for Sunday January25th at 2:30 pm will be given by the Evangelical Free Church with a luncheon served afterwards.

Activities for the week of January 26th  to January 30th are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Coffee and Conversation, Crafts, Bingo w/ Methodist, Bible Fellowship, Friday Bingo, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Saturday morning movie, and Lawrence Walk.

Volunteers signing in last week were; Judy Nelson, Dani Moseman, Betty Hanna, Bonnie Fleischman, Donna Baldwin; Betty Hanna, Mary Donavon, Di Ruwe, Patty Miller, Cathi McMurtry, Mary Pearson, Kay Swanson, and Patty Miller, Anne Anderson, and Sly Rouse.

This week is our monthly Waffle Supper on Thursday January 15th serving from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm and on Saturday the Rusty Buckets will be here to perform at 2:30 pm and it is also the Staff Christmas Party at the Club, dinner to be served at 7:00pm. Next Week on Thursday January 22nd the General Store will be open 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm for residents to come in and shop. On Friday January 23rd is a special morning Puttin on the Ritz with Breakfast pizza being served at 8:00 am.

Church Service for Sunday January 18th at 2:30 pm will be given by the Baptist Church with refreshments served afterwards. On Monday January 19th is communion with the First Lutheran Church at 2:30 pm.

Activities for the week of January 19th   to January 24th are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Sing A Long, Bingo w/Salem, Show and Share, Bible fellowship, Crafty cooking, Friday Bingo, Let’s Play Ball, Saturday morning movie, and Lawrence Welk.

Guest signing our book last we were: Ron and Mary Plageman to see Dorothy Larson, Rolly and Denise Church here to visit Muriel Rabe.

Happy New Year to everyone. Next week on Thursday January 15th is our Monthly Waffle Supper at 5:30 pm. On Saturday January 17th at 2:30 pm the Rusty Buckets will be here to perform also on Saturday is the staff Christmas party at the Golf Club, dinner at 7:00 pm. We would like to wish Tom Tibbels a Happy Birthday he celebrates his birthday on January 14th.

On Tuesday January 13th is Catholic Mass with Father Paul.

It feels like winter has arrived this week and we also will be bringing in a New Year on Thursday. Next week on Monday January 5th at 2:30 pm is our monthly Volunteer Executive meeting, on Tuesday January 6th we have a special treat, Michelle Roscoe and her Children will be here to sing and play the piano at 2:30 pm. On Thursday January 8th Charlie Davis will be here to play the Harmonica at 2:30 pm.

Church Service for Sunday January 4th at 2:30 pm will be given by the St. John Lutheran Church with refreshments served afterwards. On Wednesday January 7th there will be communion with Pastor Hoden at 1:00 pm.

Activities for the week of January 5th to January 10th are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Sing A Long, Bingo w/WOW, Show and Share, Bible fellowship, Crafty cooking, Friday Bingo, Let’s Play Ball, Saturday morning movie, and Lawrence Welk.

Happy Holiday’s to everyone, we will be having a Christmas Eve Service on Wednesday December 24th at 2:30 pm given by Pastor Hoden. The residents will be enjoying a nice Christmas Dinner with turkey and all the trimmings.

Next week on Monday December 29 at 2:30 pm is our monthly resident council meeting, then on Wednesday December 31st at 2:30 pm is the residents New Year’s eve party, also they will be having a special New Year’s Eve supper at 5:30 pm. There will be no scheduled activities for January 1st New Year’s Day, activities will resume on Friday January 2nd.

Church Service for Sunday December 28th at 2:30 pm will be given by the First Lutheran Church with refreshments served afterwards.

Activities for the week of December 29th to January 2nd are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Sing A Long, Game Day, Bingo w/VFW, Crafty cooking, Friday Bingo, Let’s Play Ball, Saturday morning movie, and Lawrence Welk.

I hope everyone had a nice time at the Residents Christmas Party we had last Friday, I would like to thank Wayne Miller, and Santa who made the party fun, also Donna Denton and the Dietary Department staff for all of the good food, and the rest of the Oakland Heights staff for helping. We have two residents celebrating birthdays this week LaMae Johnsons on December 20th and Doris Andersons on December 21st   Happy Birthday to both.

This week the Rusty Buckets will be here on Saturday December 20th at 2:30pm, next week is Christmas week and we will be having the special Christmas Eve Supper for the residents on December 24th, also the Christmas Eve Church Service on the 24th at 2:30pm. We have two residents celebrating their birthdays this

Church Service for Sunday December 21st at 2:30 pm will be given by the United Methodist Church with refreshments served afterwards. On Tuesday December 23rd at 9:30 am is Catholic Mass with Father Paul.

Activities for the week of December 22nd to the 26th are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Reading Group, Sing A Long, Game Day, Bingo w/Methodist, Crafty cooking, Friday Bingo, Let’s Play Ball, Saturday morning movie, and Lawrence Welk.

Happenings at Oakland Heights

We would like to thank the Uehling FFDA for performing their Holiday Melodrama here last week, the residents really enjoyed it. This week on Thursday December 11th at 2:30 pm Charlie Davis will be here to perform, then on Friday evening starting at 6:00 pm is the residents Christmas dinner and party, with entertainment from Wayne Miller and a visit from Santa Claus.

Next week there are two residents celebrating a birthdays, on December 14th Leonard Bracht will be celebrating his birthday with a party at 3:00 pm. And LaMae Johnson’s on December 20th. On Tuesday December 16th at 2:30 pm we will be having a Hot Cocoa Party, and on Saturday December 20th the Rusty Buckets will be here to perform at 2:30 pm.

Church Service for Sunday December 14 at 2:30 pm will be given by the St John Lutheran with refreshments served afterwards. On Monday December 15th at 2:30 is Communion with First Lutheran.
