I think summer has begun, and also a new month will be starting this week. We will start off next Monday June 2nd with our Monthly Volunteer Executive meeting at 2:30 pm the volunteer executives are as follows Robyn Johnson President, Nadine Anderson Vice President, and Pat Anderson Secretary.

Church Service for Sunday June 1st at 2:30 pm will be given by the St. John’s Lutheran Church with refreshments served afterwards. On Wednesday June 4th at 1:00 pm is Communion with Pastor Hoden.

Activities for the week of June 2nd to June 7th are as followed, , Reading with Marilyn, Sing a Long, Game Day, Bingo w/WOW, Crafts, Bible Fellowship, Word Games, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Friday Bingo, Saturday morning movie, and Lawrence Welk.

We had a great time last week with the Residents for National Nursing Home Week. A week of parties, I would like to thank Pat Anderson, Nadine Anderson, and Robin Johnson for volunteering to help for the Mother’s Day Tea also the rest of the nursing home staff that joined in on the fun for the Hula Hoop contest and Ball Tournament. We also had a nice turnout for the Waffle Supper last Thursday night it is so nice to have such great volunteers who come every month to assist with the supper.

Next week is Memorial Day on Monday May 26th, and we have a Birthday this week Cathy Huff celebrates her birthday on May 31st.

Church Service for Sunday May25th at 2:30 pm will be given by the   First Evang. Lutheran Church with refreshments served afterwards.

Activities for the week of May 26th to May 31st are as followed, ,Sing a Long, Game Day, Bingo w/Methodist, Bible Fellowship, Reading Group, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Saturday morning movie, and Lawrence Welk

This is a busy week with many activities planned. It is National Nursing Home week. We kicked off the week on Monday with a Mother’s Day Tea Party. The rest of the week will be activities that go along with the theme for this year’s Nursing home week “Living the Aloha Spirit. Saturday May 17th the Rusty Buckets will be here at 2:30 pm. Next week we will have a back to normal week of activities.

Church service for Sunday May18th at 2:30 pm will be given by the  First United Methodist Church with refreshments served afterwards. Monday May 19th is Communion with First Lutheran Church.

Activities for the week of May 19th to May 24th are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Sing a Long, Game Day, Bingo w/Salem , Bible Fellowship, General Store, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Saturday morning movie and Lawrence Welk.

National Nursing Home Week

We have a reschedule for Wednesday May7th there will be no Communion with Pastor Hoden that day it is moved to the following week.

We have a fun week coming up next week, it is National Nursing Home Week the theme this year is Living the Aloha Spirit and we will kick off the week with a Mother’s Day Tea Party on Monday May 12th at 2:30 pm., on Tuesday May 13th is our Aloha day and we will be having a Aloha party at 2:30 pm with a hula hoop contest for staff. On Wednesday May 14 is Margarita Day with a Margarita Party at 2:30 pm. Thursday May 15th is our Beach party day serving grilled Hamburger and Hotdogs for Dinner and a Let’s Play Ball Tournament at 2:30 pm for residents and staff and also on Thursday is our monthly Waffle Supper night at 530 pm. And we will end the week Friday will be our Bubble day, we will be having a tiny bubbles party on the patio at 2:30 pm. Saturday May 17th the Rusty Buckets will be here at 2:30 pm to perform.

Church Service for Sunday May11th at 2:30 pm will be given by the   Craig / Alder Grove Church with refreshments served afterwards. On Wednesday May 14th at 1:00 pm is communion with Pastor Hoden.

Activities for the week of May 12th to May 17th are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Sing a Long,   Bingo w/Evang. Free , Bible Fellowship, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Saturday morning movie, and Lawrence Welk.

O-C High School Students Model Prom Attire at Oakland Heights

The residents really enjoyed the High School students who walked through in the Prom outfits last Saturday, also the two Senior winners who signed up for the drawing for the Chamber Bucks here on Saturday was David Peterson and Emily Weitzenkamp, congratulations. Assisted Living side. Next Week on Monday May 5th at 2:30 pm is our monthly Volunteer Executive Council meeting.

Beautiful Easter Weekend at Oakland Heights

It was a beautiful weekend for all of the Holiday events, we had a nice crowd up here Saturday for the Easter egg hunt hosted by the Lions Club and on Easter morning the residents enjoyed an Easter brunch that was visited by two cute Easter Bunnies. On Saturday April 26th the O-C High school students are invited to come up between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm to show off their outfits to the residents, the residents really enjoy seeing all of the beautiful gowns and suits. There will also be a drawing for one O-C Senior Girl and Boy to receive $25 in Chamber bucks for each.

Next week we on Monday April 28 at 2:30pm is our monthly Resident Council Meeting. And on Wednesday April 30th at 2:30 pm we will be making May Day Baskets for our friends at Oakland Heights Assisted Living.

Church Service for Sunday April 27th at 2:30 pm will be given by the First Baptist Church with refreshments served afterwards.

Activities for the week of April 28th to May 3rd  are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures,   Game Day,  Sing A Long,   Bingo w/VFW Aux. , Bible Fellowship, Word Games, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Friday Bingo, Saturday morning movie, and Lawrence Welk.
