We would like to wish everyone Happy Holiday.  Thursday December 24th we will be having a Christmas Eve service with Pastor Hineline at 2:30 pm. Next week on Monday December 28th at 2:30 pm is the monthly Resident Council meeting. Then on Thursday we will be having a New Year’s Eve party for the residents at 2:30 pm.

Church Service for Sunday December 27th at 2:30 pm will be given by the First United Methodist Church with a luncheon served afterwards.

Activities for the week of December 28th to January 2nd   are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Sing a Long, Game Day, Bingo the w/VFW Aux., reading group, Bible Fellowship, Saturday morning video, and Lawrence Walk.

We had nice evening for the resident Christmas party last Friday night; it was nice to see all of the family members here for the party.  We would like to thank Wayne Miller for the entertainment and Dan Rosenbaum for playing Santa and a big thanks to all of the staff who helped out, it made for a nice party for the residents. A couple of things going on this week on Thursday December 17th we will be have a Christmas shop open for the resident to come in and do a little Christmas shopping for themselves we will have a large variety to choose from. On Saturday December 19th at 2:30 pm the rusty buckets will be here to perform. Next week is Christmas week and on Thursday December 24th we will be have a Christmas Eve Service at 2:30pm given by Curt Hineline. We have a birthday to celebrate this week Lamae Johnson on December 20th.

Church Service for Sunday December 20th at 2:30 pm will be given by the Craig/Alder Grove Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Monday December 21st at 2:30 pm is Communion with First Lutheran Church and on Tuesday December 22nd at 9:30 am is Catholic Mass with Father Paul.

Activities for the week of December 21st to December 26th are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Sing a Long, Game Day, Bingo the w/Methodist, reading group, Bible Fellowship, Saturday morning Christmas video, and Lawrence Walk.

We had a nice turnout for the Holiday Bazaar, this Friday December 11th is   our Annual Residents Christmas party with dinner at 6:00pm and entertainment to follow. Then on Saturday December 12th the Uehling FFDA will be here at 3:00 pm to put on their Holiday Play. On Sunday December 13th at noon the Craig/Alder Grove church members will come and carol the residents. Next week on Tuesday December 15th at 11:30 am we will be going to Golden Oaks for their noon potluck. On Thursday December 17th we will be having the General Store for the residents from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, and on Saturday December 19th the Rusty Buckets will be here to perform at 2:30pm. We have a resident celebrating a Birthday next week Leonard Bracht on December 14th.

Church Service for Sunday November 13th at 2:30 pm will be given by the Evangelical Free Church with a luncheon served afterwards .

Activities for the week of December 14th to December 18th are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Sing a Long, Game Day, Bingo w/Salem, reading group, Bible Fellowship, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Friday Bingo, Saturday morning Christmas video, and Lawrence Walk.

I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend, we are starting a new month this week, and it is a month of many special holiday events here at the Nursing Home.

We start off this week on Friday December 4th is our Annual Holiday Bazaar from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm , we have a variety of holiday items to choose from, so come up and do a little Christmas shopping with us. On Sunday December 6th the St. John Lutheran carolers will come up and sing in the dining room at noon. Next week on Monday December 7th is the monthly Volunteer executive meeting at 2:30 pm. On Thursday December 10th Charlie Davis will be here to play his harmonica. Then on Friday December 11th is the Residents Christmas party, dinner with family members at 6:00 pm and the party to follow. On Saturday December 12th the Uehling FFDA will be putting on their Holiday play for the residents at 3:00 pm. We have one resident celebrating a birthday, Janet Kroger on December 7th.

Church Service for Sunday November 6th at 2:30 pm will be given by the First Baptist Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Tuesday November 8th is Catholic Mass with Father Paul at 9:30 am.

Activities for the week of December 7th to December 12th   are as followed, Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Sing a Long, Game Day, Bingo w/Evang. free, reading group, Bible Fellowship, Friday Bingo, Saturday morning movie, and Lawrence Walk.

The Holidays are fast approaching; we have our monthly Waffle Supper this Thursday November 19th serving from 5:30pm to 6:00 pm. Then next week on Wednesday November 25th at 2:30 we will be having a Thanksgiving Church service with Pastor Hoden. On Thursday Thanksgiving Day the residents will have a traditional Thanksgiving meal at 11:30 am.

Church Service for Sunday November 22nd at 2:30 pm will be given by the St. John Lutheran Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Tuesday November 24th there will be Catholic Mass at 9:30am given by Father Paul.

What a nice weekend for the Trick or Treaters, the residents had a good time at the Halloween party we had for them last Friday, the winner of the outside Halloween display contest was the North Star Volunteers with the Scary Bingo display, the runner up was the Skelton pirate display. We have moved in to a new month and the start of the Holiday Season is quickly approaching. Upcoming events for this week on Thursday November 5th at 2:30 pm we will be serving pumpkin donuts and apple cider. Next week on Monday November 9th the Roscoe Family will come and entertain at 2:30 pm. then on Thursday November 12th Charlie Davis will be here to play the Harmonica at 2:30 pm.

We have a couple of Birthdays coming up on November 4th Muriel Rabe, and on November 14th Pauline Loeffler celebrates her 103rd Birthday.

We have a fun week coming up, we have finished decorating outside in front of the building for a Halloween display contest, there are four teams consisting of Oakland Heights employees and North Star Volunteers. This week we have several fun activities, on Thursday the O-C Kindergarteners will come and sing for us at 2:00 pm. Then on Friday is the residents Halloween Party at 2:30 pm. And then on Saturday October 31st Halloween the residents will be handing out candy for any Trick or Treaters that would like to stop by. And don’t forget to set your clocks back this coming weekend.

Next week is the beginning of a new month and we start off on Monday November 2nd with the monthly volunteer executive meeting at 2:30. On Thursday November 5th at 2:30 pm we will be having special pumpkin treats and cider.

Church Service for November 1st at 2:30 pm will be given by Craig/Alder Grove Church with a luncheon served afterwards. On Wednesday November 4th is communion with Pastor Hoden.

Activities for the week of November 2nd to November 7th , are as followed,  Reading with Marilyn, Manicures, Trivia day, Sing a Long, , Bingo w/WOW, Bible Fellowship, Reading the Local Paper, Let’s Play Ball, Crafty Cooking, Friday Bingo, Nebraska Football, and Saturday morning movie.
