Jason Erle Racely, 61, of Wayne, NE passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Funeral services are pending with Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield, NE.

Patricia Jo Pickell, 39, of Tekamah NE


Patricia Jo Pickell was born August 30, 1975 to Bill and Danna (Corbin) Pickell in Blair, Nebraska. She passed away March 1, 2015, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, after a very unexpected fight against influenza B and pneumonia, at the age of 39 years.

Patricia grew up , and lived in Tekamah, Nebraska  most of her life. She ran a daycare for many years, and then worked construction until she passed.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles Corbin and grandparents, Melvin and Jean Pickell.

She is survived by her four children, Jessalyn, Tristan, Wyatt, Dawson, all of Tekamah; step son, Austin Metzger, of Oklahoma; parents, Bill and Danna (Corbin) Pickell;  sisters, Peggy (Jesse) Dorau, Brooke (Guy) Pensyl; eight nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 10:30 am, at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah.

VISITATION: Tuesday 5-8 p.m., with family receiving friends at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah.

BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah, NE.

Wayne Saville, 67, of Milford NE, Formerly of Tekamah NE


WAYNE LEROY SAVILLE, 67 years of Milford, Nebraska, and former Tekamah resident, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Wayne was born October 15, 1947, in Blair, Nebraska, to Donald and Gladys (Gill) Saville. He graduated from Tekamah High School in 1965 and then worked at the Omaha YMCA.

Wayne served in the U. S. Navy from 1968 – 1972 and 1981 – 1986. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked in law enforcement and as a medical assistant.

Wayne was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Milford. His hobbies included gardening, reading and cooking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Saville; nephew, Derek Wortman; niece, Juliet Wortman.

Survivors include his sister, LuAnn (Terry) Wortman of Hayes Center, NE; brother, Warren (Deb) Saville of Sioux City, IA; three nieces and one nephew.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Tuesday, October 28, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at the Tekamah Cemetery

Sandra Sue “Sandy” Stork, 70, of Tekamah NE


SANDRA SUE “SANDY” STORK passed from this life Friday, September 26, 2014.  She was born on October 27, 1943,  to Clyde V. and Mary A. (Weber) Stork. She grew up on the family farm near Tekamah, Nebraska, and continued to be involved in its operation throughout her life.

Sandy graduated from Tekamah High School in 1962. She was a dedicated participant in 4-H during her high school years, winning many awards for food, sewing, and speech. She also showed Shorthorn cattle, for which she earned the distinction of being chosen Shorthorn Lassie Queen by the Nebraska Shorthorn Association.

In 1966, Sandy earned the degree of Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She then went on to attain her master’s degree from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio in 1969.

Sandy began her professional career as an Outpatient Clinical Dietitian at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.  In 1974 she was promoted to the position of Assistant Director of the Department of Dietetics, and in 1978 she became the Director of the Department of Clinical Dietetics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  She was instrumental in the creation and initiation of the dietetic internship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  Most recently she taught Nutrition to nursing students at the Nebraska Methodist College as well as to culinary students at the Metropolitan Community College – Institute for the Culinary Arts in Omaha.  She was a gifted, engaging, and loved teacher who was able to not only see the potential in others but who was also able to help them reach that potential.  Known for her creative, personable, seasoned-with-humor teaching style, Sandy easily related to students at all levels.

Sandy lovingly cared for her bed-ridden mother in their home for many years, and then later, also devotedly provided home care for her father.

Her personal relationship with Jesus Christ was most important to her and that relationship was visible in her daily life.  Sandy was known for her steady, measured, and wise counsel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Alice Stokes Brown and Patricia June Stokes Hovendick; nephew, Mike Brown.

Those left to fondly remember her are her dearest friend, Barbara Robertson;  brother-in-law, Earl Hovendick; nephews and niece, Earl Jr. “Butch”, Kevin and Tim Hovendick, Christy Reser, Jeff and Steven Brown;  many other relatives and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, October 3, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at the Tekamah City Auditorium, 1315 K Street, Tekamah, Nebraska.

VISITATION: Thursday, October 2, 2014, 4 – 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation will also be held Friday one hour prior to the service at the auditorium in Tekamah.

BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery

MEMORIALS: Lied Tekamah Public Library, 204 South 13th St.,Tekamah, NE 68061-13044 or the Sandra S. Stork Trust to be used for charitable organizations or individuals that she supported during her lifetime.
