Shawna Adair, 43, of Springfield NE


Shawna Ruth Adair was born April 27, 1973 in Seward, Nebraska. She was a loving daughter, mother, and wife and a treasure to all who loved her. Shawna had a huge heart and always kept the most important things in life as her top priority. She attended King’s Way United Methodist Church.

Shawna married David Richard Adair on September 9, 2006. She is survived by daughters Lyndsay Marie Sorrick of Clinton, Mo; Abigail Paige Adair, Alexandrea Payton Adair and son, Nicholas David Adair of Springfield. Also surviving to mourn her are her father Mike Denton (Donna) of West Point, Nebraska; mother Becky Clausen, and partner Delwin Hingst of Uehling, Nebraska; mother-in-law Becky Galloway of Springfield; father-in-law Richard Adair (Olivia) of Des Moines, Iowa; brothers: Steve (Laura) Denton, Blake Denton, Chad Clausen and Cody Clausen. Shawna was loved by so many. Special friends were Rose Andersen, Nikkii Rogers and Tina Brubaker.

Shawna lived her life fully. She touched many lives and was always there for family and friends. Shawna had a great sense of style and created beautiful homes for her family. She was very proud of her early years of service as a law enforcement officer in Stone County, Christian County and City of Sparta, Missouri . Our hearts are forever broken by her early death, but we praise God for the gift of Shawna. We know we will see her again.

Marian Christine (Svendsen) Wynn, 93, of Lyons NE


Marian Christine (Svendsen) Wynn was born to Andrew Peter Svendsen and Henriette Jensen on July 9, 1923 in Lyons, Nebraska. She passed away August 19, 2016, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair, Nebraska, at the age of 93 years.

Marian graduated from Lyons High School in 1940. Upon graduation, she worked for the Glen L. Martin Bomber Plant in Baltimore, Maryland. It was there that she met the love of her life, Harold Willuknight Wynn. They were married on January 27, 1943. Her devotion to her husband continued through their 69 years of marriage.

Marian and Harold lived most of their lives on a farm near Lyons, where she enjoyed cooking and taking care of her husband. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Marian was also Chairman of the Methodist Church Fair Kitchen for many years. In 1980 she served as Worthy Matron in Eastern Star. She will also be remembered for her years of selling Avon, winning many awards for her hard work.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; son, Robert; sister, Pauline Going; brothers, Edward and Andrew Svendsen.

She is survived by her son, Knight (Lynn) Wynn of Highland, WI; daughter, Paula (Richard) Nelson of Blair, NE; grandsons, Christopher (Sylvia) Wynn, Eric (Laura) Wynn, Jason Nelson; granddaughter, Kirstine (Jim) Chvala; great granddaughters, Haley Wynn, Analise Wynn, Gabrielle Wynn; great grandsons, Carter Wynn, Jordan Nelson.

Marian’s great devotion to her husband, her family, and many friends was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be terribly missed.

The Funeral Service is Tues., Aug. 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lyons, NE. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial is in the Lyons Cemetery.

Eva Dale (Miller) Climer, 89, of Lyons NE


Eva Dale (Miller) Climer was born on April 13, 1927 in rural Craig, Nebraska, near the Bertha Community, to Hurley and Hattie (Patrick) Martin Miller. She passed away on August 17, 2016 at Oakland Heights Nursing Home in Oakland, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years.

Eva enjoyed horseback riding, sledding, and other outdoor activities with her childhood friends and family. She attended rural Bertha school District 36 and graduated from Oakland High School in 1944. After graduation, Eva moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she worked for Mutual of Omaha.

Eva married Donald Climer on December 3, 1945 at the First United Methodist Church in Oakland. To this union three children were born, Michael, Randal and William. In 1945, Eva and Don moved to Thurston County and began farming. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Walthill, Nebraska. In the spring of 1956, they moved to the Bertha area and continued farming. Eva was a member of the Divide Center Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school and youth groups for many years. She was also a member of the Mariners.

After Don’s death in 1999, Eva moved to Lyons, Nebraska where she was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed family activities, and loved attending her grandchildren’s sports events. Eva loved her flower garden and enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; six brothers, Irvin Miller, Glen Miller, Elwood Miller, Raymond Martin, William Miller, Robert Miller; two sisters, Lula (Miller) Helms, Nadine (Martin) Simpson; one grandchild, Claude Climer.

Eva is survived by her three sons, Michael Climer of Omaha, Randal Climer of Omaha, and William (Elaine) Climer of Lyons, Nebraska; seven grandchildren Lisa (Craig Brown) Climer,
Melanie (Israel) Climer-Wilson, Mitchell Climer and Heather Carlson, William Climer Jr,
Christopher Climer, Claire Climer, Charise Climer; seven great grandchildren, Dylan Climer, Danielle Climer and Chance Wright, Reagan Wilson, Hailley Wilson, Addie Brown, Bess Brown, Kingston Climer; other relatives and friends.

Memorial Visitation is Mon., Aug. 22nd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Services in Lyons. Family will receive friends with Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.

The Memorial Service is Tues., Aug. 23red at 1:00 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Services in Lyons.

Burial is in the Lyons Cemetery.
