ROBERT “BOB” J. MUSSACK was born October 28, 1950, to Gordon and Erma (Alexander) Mussack. He passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, at CHI Health Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 64.
Bob grew up in the Decatur/Tekamah area. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1969 and went on to further his education at Wayne State College and Northeast Tech Community College.
On August 23rd, 1969, Bob married the love of his life Cindy Penny, in Decatur, Nebraska. To this union two sons were born, Jeff and Jason. Bob and Cindy lived most of their lives in Omaha.
Bob loved spending time with family, especially with his grandkids. At a young age, Bob began taking fishing trips to Minnesota with his family and friends. These trips meant so much to Bob, that he carried on the tradition taking Minnesota fishing trips with his own children. He and Cindy continued yearly trips through 2014 and he passed on the love of fishing to his grandchildren. He was a positive person, always encouraging others and putting their needs before his own.
Bob lettered in high school sports, including football, basketball and track. He earned several awards, medals and even trophies displayed below us in the town hall basement today.
He worked at Leo A. Daily architectural firm in Omaha for over 38 years.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Gordon Mussack, stepfather Forrest Penny, brother Allen, and nephews, Kennedy Mussack and Colt Penny.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Omaha; sons, Jeff (Cindi) of Parker, CO, Jason (Rebecca) of Omaha; 4 grandchildren, Miranda, Lydia, Jayce and Adelyn; mother, Erma Shawver of Lyons, NE; sisters, Jean Wiersma of Decatur, Mary (Scott) Christ of Overland Park, KS; brother, Dan (Heidi) Mussack of Blair, NE; stepbrothers, Joel (Brenda) Penny, Phil Penny all of Decatur; and stepsister, Sandy (Greg) Brummond of Craig, NE.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, January 7, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at the Decatur City Hall, 913 S. Broadway, Decatur, Nebraska
VISITATION: Tuesday, 5 – 7 p.m. with family receiving friends at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation will also be held at the City Hall one hour prior to service.

JACK RENAULT NIELSEN, 90 years, of Lyons, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015, at Oakland Mercy Hospital in Oakland, Nebraska.
Jack was born November 10, 1924 near Cozad, Nebraska, to Peter and Andrea (Jensen) Nielsen. The fourth of six children, he moved to Bancroft at a young age, and then on to Burt County for the remainder of his life.
He served in the Army in occupied Japan, as the war had ended while he was shipping out.
He met his wife, as she was the teacher at Moore School, and boarded with the Nielsens. They were married August 9, 1949. To this union were born three sons, John Richard in 1952, Mark Leslie in 1954 and Michael Christian in 1958. Jack adopted Betty’s daughter Jerrianne. Son Mark passed in 1956, Michael passed in 1971, and John in 2013.
Jack and Betty celebrated their 60th anniversary in August 2009.
Jack was very fond of farming and raising livestock. He loved life on the farm. He enjoyed polka music. He and Betty enjoyed square dancing, even in Hawaii, that was a special trip.
He and Betty moved to Lyons in 1983. He was recognized as he went for his daily drive in his red pickup. Jack always enjoyed visiting and learning.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; three sons; two sisters; three brothers.
He leaves to mourn, daughter, Jerri (Milt) Schreiner of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Mark Booth, of Omaha, Rachael Nielsen, of Gillette, WY, Jamie Nielsen, of Whitney, NE; three step-grandchildren, Julie (Joe) Wynn, of Omaha, Shannon Barron, of Hay Springs, NE, Kelly Turnbull, of Houston, TX; two great grandchildren, Alayna and Jack Rudloff.

ROGER MAURICE ROBINSON, 76 years, of Tekamah, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Tekamah.
Roger was born January 26, 1938, in Tekamah, to Merlin and Annie Robinson.
He attended school in Tekamah until heading West in his mid-teens. After serving in the U.S. Army, he settled in Twin Falls, ID, marrying Kathleen Butler in 1965.
He made his living as a self-employed tree trimmer for many years, returning to Nebraska in 1983 to take the helm from his aging father, Merlin, as Sexton of the Tekamah Cemetery. Roger enjoyed his work, family and nature. An accomplished naturalist and political observer, he was never one to shy away from writing eye opening articles on many subjects.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie E. in 1983, and his father, Merlin A. in 1989.
Survivors include daughters, Theresa and Melanie; sons, Mitch and Daniel; brother, Carl; sisters, Joyce and Rachel; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Wednesday, January 7, 2015, 2:00 pm at Faith Family Baptist Church, Tekamah, NE.

Margie VerLee Wickstrom was born to Irvin and Margie (Wegner) Greenfield on November 3, 1941 in rural Bancroft, Nebraska. She passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Fremont Health Medical Center in Fremont, Nebraska.
VerLee grew up on a farm outside of Bancroft, graduating from High School in 1959.
On January 22, 1960, VerLee was married to Emory Wickstrom in Elk Point, South Dakota.
VerLee and Emory made their home in Oakland, where they raised their four children.
VerLee was employed in the healthcare field in Oakland, Lyons and West Point, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin J and Margie A. Greenfield; brother, Rocknie L. Greenfield.
She is survived by her husband, Emory Wickstrom, of Oakland; son, Nick (Suzie) Wickstrom, of Ann Arbor, MI; daughter, Linda (Joel) Williamsen, of Huntsville, AL; son, Tom (Michelle) Wickstrom, of Omaha, NE; son, Darin Wickstrom, of Lincoln, NE; brothers, Marlin (Kathy) Greenfield of Uehling, NE Marvin (Mary) Greenfield of Bancroft, NE; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, January 2, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland.

IONE MADELYN NELSON was born to Walter and Hannah (Peterson) Wachter on May 15, 1916 in rural Herman, Nebraska. She passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Ambassador Nursing Home in Nebraska City.
Before moving to Rosalie in 1930, Ione attended schools in Washington County. She graduated from Rosalie High School in 1934. In March of 1938, she married Gunnar Nelson at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosalie. They moved to a farm west of town where they lived until retirement in 1975, at which time they moved to Rosalie.
Ione was a professional homemaker. She was truly a “farmer’s wife”. She spent hours on end in their yard planting flowers and maintaining a vegetable garden. During the winter months, she occupied herself by quilting. Through the years, she was active in different capacities at her church. She was also a charter member of the Rosalie Friendship Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, C. Gunnar Nelson; daughter Carole Dawn; parents, Walter and Hannah (Peterson) Wachter; brother and sister-in-law, Rollin and Jeanne Wachter.
Survivors include brother, Richard (Susan) Wachter; son-in-law, Wesley Nelson; children, Linda (Don) Young, Colleen (LeRoy) Kenan, Randy (Kathy) Nelson, Roger (Diane) Nelson; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
