Christmas Concert at Lyons Library Saturday

The joy of Christmas is magnified when we gather together to celebrate.  You are invited to gather together this Saturday, December 19 at 1pm at the Lyons Library.  There the Burt County Brass Quintet and the Bancroft Melody Chimers will present the finale in a series of three area Christmas concerts.  This Saturday in Lyons sounds of Christmas like “Joy to the World”, “Go Tell It on the Mountain”, “Silent Night”, “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and a peculiar “Most of the Twelve Days of Christmas” will ring through the library.  A reception for all will be held after the concert.
Playing in the Burt County Brass Quintet are Gary Fugman and Jim Groth, trumpets, Lisa Mutzenberger, French horn, Jess Watson, trombone and Viktor Sundleaf, tuba.  Members of the Bancroft Melody Chimers are Connie Bargman, Ruthann Bargman, Janice Daberkow, Sharon Fugman, Ken Headlee, Rachael Macklin, Brenda Trotter, Peggy Renz, and Nicole Sachs.  You can preview this Saturday’s Christmas concert by going online to News Channel Nebraska-Video-Christmas Concert in Bancroft.

Celebrate Christmas at the Swedish Heritage Center


The Swedish Heritage Center is hosting a Christmas celebration beginning at 4:00 p.m. today complete with food and music

Enjoy a cocktail while you browse the displays or shop all our new Swedish mugs,napkins candle holders etc. The Burt County  Brass plays at 5:00 p.m. followed by a children’s choir.

Then there will be beer, wine and Hors d’oeuvres.

Enjoy the beauty of the Swedish Heritage Center in the evening with all the Christmas decor.

The love, joy and peace of Christmas will be magnified at a 2014 Christmas Concert Series presented by the Burt County Brass Quintet and the Bancroft Melody Chimers.  Check your calendars!  All are invited!  Share in the Spirit of Christmas in two counties!
Starting Saturday, December 13 at 2pm at the Lyons Library, the Burt County Brass Quintet, Gary Fugman and Jim Groth, trumpets, Brenner Beavers, french horn, Jess Watson, trombone and Viktor Sundleaf, tuba and the Bancroft melody Chimers, Nichole Sachs, Candice Headlee, Sharon Fugman, Marian Metzger, ConnieBargman, Peggy Rens, Ruthann Bargman, Rachel Macklin and conductor Ken Headlee, will play a Christmas concert for the benefit of the Lyons Library.  A freewill offering will be received.  Christmas music to be played will include “O Come, O Come Emanuel”, “Ding Dong! Merrily on High!”, “I Saw Three Ships”, “Go Tell It on the Mountain”, “Joy to the World”, “Nutcracker Sweets”, “The Little Drummer Boy” and “O Come All Ye Faithful”.
Then on Sunday, December 14 at 2pm the Brass and Bells move on to be featured at the Neihardt Center in Bancroft on their Holiday Musical Favorites series.  Later on Sunday, December 14 at 5pm, the Burt County Brass Quintet Concert Series will continue as the Quintet is featured on the Christmas Concert for the Community at the Swedish Heritage Museum in Oakland.
