Burt County Brass Quintet to Perform in Bancroft and Lyons This Sunday

What could be better than a Christmas Brass Quintet concert?  A Christmas Brass Quintet concert with a Bell Choir!
Bring the whole family this Sunday, December 10 to the Neihardt Center in Bancroft at 2pm and the Lyons Library at 4pm.  There you will hear the sounds of Christmas performed by the Burt County Brass Quintet, Gary Fugman and Jim Groth, trumpets, Lisa Mutzenberger, French horn, Matt Smoot, trombone, Viktor Sundleaf, tuba and the Bancroft Melody Chimers, Nicki Sachs, Janice Daberkow, Gary Fugman, Sharon Fugman, Connie Bargman, Peggy Renz, Ruth Ann Bargman and Rachel Macklin with Ken Headlee, conductor.  Christmas favorites to be performed by the ensembles will include Silver Bells, Now is Born the Divine Christ Child, Little Drummer Boy, Go Tell It on the Mountain, Sleigh Ride, O Come, O Come Emanuel, Most of the Twelve Days of Christmas and Joy to the World.
At the Lyons Library on Sunday, refreshments will be served as the concert is a fund raiser for the Library.  Donations are encouraged.  The Burt County Brass Quintet is available for future concerts and occasions.  Please contact any member of the Quintet or call Pastor Gary Fugman at 402-349-1953 with your plans.

Burt County Brass Quintet to Perform at Burt County Fair Saturday


There is something exciting, expressive and powerful about a brass quintet.  Add to this exceptional sound a wide selection of American music and you have the recipe for a popular performance!  This is exactly what the Burt County Fair in Oakland has in store for you and your family this Saturday.
Saturday, August 5 at 2pm in the Pavilion, the Burt County Fair presents the Burt County Brass Quintet.  This popular music group that has concertized over three counties in six years will be playing an “All American Music” concert.  Music from early America to Broadway to the Beatles will be featured by this performing group at the Burt County Fair this Saturday.
Members of the Burt County Brass Quintet are Gary Fugman and Jim Groth, trumpets, Lisa Mutzenberger, French horn, Matt Smoot, trombone and Viktor Sundleaf, tuba.  The BCBQ is available to perform for your town, organization or gathering.  Contact any member of the Quintet or call Pastor Gary Fugman at 349-1953.  Mark your calendars to hear the BCBQ in future Christmas concerts; December 3 at 6pm at the Swedish Heritage Center in Oakland and December 10 at the Neihardt Center in Bancroft at 2pm and the Library in Lyons at 4pm.

Burt County Brass Quintet to Open Christmas Concert Series Sunday in Oakland


The Burt County Brass Quintet will open its Christmas concert series this Sunday in Oakland.  All are invited to the wonderfully warm, best in the area for brass, acoustics of the Swedish Heritage Center on Highway 77 in Oakland Sunday, December 4 at 6:30pm.
There members of the Burt County Brass Quintet, Gary Fugman and Jim Groth, trumpets, Lisa Mutzenberger, French horn, Matt Smoot, trombone and Viktor Sundleaf, tuba will perform a concert celebrating Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ, with musical selections including “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “Most of the Twelve Days of Christmas”, and “Joy to the World”.  A fund raising dinner to support the Swedish Heritage Center will be held in the Center’s newly remodeled lower level prior to Sunday’s 6:30pm Christmas concert.
Future Burt County Brass Quintet Christmas concerts include Sunday, December 11 at 1pm at the John G. Neihardt Center in Bancroft and Sunday. Burt County Brass Quintet and Bancroft Melody Chimers Performing Christmas Concerts


Music is a great way to celebrate the joy and peace of Christmas.  And the joy and peace of Christmas in magnified in our gathering together this blessed season!  Two area music ensembles invite you to a series of Christmas concerts designed to bring you together to hear again the message of the angels, the good news of the Baby Jesus born to all of us.
Three Christmas concerts will be performed by the Burt County Brass Quintet and the Bancroft Melody Chimers.  The Burt County Brass Quintet, Gary Fugman and Jim Groth, trumpets, Lisa Mutzenberger, French horn, Jess Watson, trombone and Viktor Sundleaf, tuba and the Bancroft Melody Chimers, Nichole Sachs, Janice Daberkow, Sharon Fugman, Marion Metzger, Connie Bargman, Peggy Renz, Ruth Ann Bargman, Rachael Macklin and Ken Headlee will perform together Sunday, December 13 at 2pm at the Neihardt Center in Bancroft, Sunday, December 13 at 5pm at the Swedish Heritage Center in Oakland (BCBQ only) and Saturday, December 19 at 1pm at the Lyons Library.
Musical selections by the Quintet will include “Here We Come A-Wassailing”, “Sleigh Ride”, “Silent Night”, “Most of the Twelve Days of Christmas” and “Joy to the World”.  Musical selections by the Chimers will include “Little Drummer Boy”, “Nutcracker Suites”, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and “Go Tell It on the Mountain”.
Mark your callendars for Sunday, December 13 at 2 and 5pm and Saturday, December 19 at 1pm and enjoy the sounds of joy and peace this Christmas!

Burt County Brass Quintet Performs Tommorrow


The Burt County Brass Quintet has on it’s 2015 concert season the Decatur Trolley “Artplace” Station Dedication, Sunday, November 1 at 3pm, the Bancroft Neihardt Center Christmas Concert, Sunday, December 13 at 2pm, the Oakland Swedish Heritage Center Christmas Concert, Sunday, December 13 at 5pm and the Lyons Library Christmas Concert, Saturday, December 19 at 1pm.

The Burt County Brass Quintet to Perform at the Fair


The Burt County Brass Quintet will continue its exciting series of concerts at the Burt County Fair!  Monday, August 10 at 5pm at the Burt County Fair Pavilion in Oakland, the Quintet will perform musical selections from 1690 to 2003 and it will only take 45 minutes!  Selections will include “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by J.S.Bach, “Grand March” from Aida by Verdi, “It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing” by Duke Ellington and a medley of Beatles tunes, “Eleanor Rigby, Can’t Buy Me Love, Yesterday, When I’m Sixty Four and Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” all by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.  This performance will be fun for the whole family right across from the Burt County Fair Office at the Pavilion.
The Burt County Brass Quintet has been concertizing in three counties since 2010.  The Quintet’s musicians are Gary Fugman and Jim Groth, trumpets, Brenner Beavers, French horn, Jes Watson, trombone and Viktor Sundleak, tuba.  The Burt County Brass Quintet will appear also at the Lyons Library Christmas Concert Saturday, December 19 at 1pm.  To have the Burt County Brass Quintet perform at your function, please call Pastor Gary Fugman at 349-1953.

Logan Valley Artists to Feature the Burt County Brass Quintet

The Logan Valley Artists invite everyone to their annual Spring Art Show.  Many works of art in different mediums will be on display Saturday, April 11 from 10am to 4pm and Sunday, April 12 from 10am to 4pm at the Oakland Auditorium.  On both Saturday and Sunday the Spring Art Show will feature area performing artists.  On Sunday from 3pm to 4pm Logan Valley Artists will feature the Burt County Brass Quintet.  The Quintet has been rehearsing for their summer concert season and will perform a dozen musical selections dated from 1690 to 1986, 300 years of music history!  The selections range from J.S.Bach’s “Jesu, Joy on Man’s Desiring” to Verdi’s “Grand March from Aida” to the Beatles “Yesterday”.

The love, joy and peace of Christmas will be magnified at a 2014 Christmas Concert Series presented by the Burt County Brass Quintet and the Bancroft Melody Chimers.  Check your calendars!  All are invited!  Share in the Spirit of Christmas in two counties!
Starting Saturday, December 13 at 2pm at the Lyons Library, the Burt County Brass Quintet, Gary Fugman and Jim Groth, trumpets, Brenner Beavers, french horn, Jess Watson, trombone and Viktor Sundleaf, tuba and the Bancroft melody Chimers, Nichole Sachs, Candice Headlee, Sharon Fugman, Marian Metzger, ConnieBargman, Peggy Rens, Ruthann Bargman, Rachel Macklin and conductor Ken Headlee, will play a Christmas concert for the benefit of the Lyons Library.  A freewill offering will be received.  Christmas music to be played will include “O Come, O Come Emanuel”, “Ding Dong! Merrily on High!”, “I Saw Three Ships”, “Go Tell It on the Mountain”, “Joy to the World”, “Nutcracker Sweets”, “The Little Drummer Boy” and “O Come All Ye Faithful”.
Then on Sunday, December 14 at 2pm the Brass and Bells move on to be featured at the Neihardt Center in Bancroft on their Holiday Musical Favorites series.  Later on Sunday, December 14 at 5pm, the Burt County Brass Quintet Concert Series will continue as the Quintet is featured on the Christmas Concert for the Community at the Swedish Heritage Museum in Oakland.

Burt County Brass Quintet to Play at Neihardt Center in Bancroft


Get into the holiday spirit by attending the John G. Neihardt State Historic Site’s December “Sunday Afternoon at the Museum” program.  Mark your calendar for December 14 at 2:00 p.m., and don’t’ forget to bring your family, friends, and even your Grinch-y neighbor to Bancroft to rejoice at the holiday music of the Burt County Brass Quintet and the Bancroft Melody Chimers.

The quintet features Gary Fugman (Decatur) and Jim Groth (Oakland) on trumpet; Brenner Beavers (Tekamah) playing the French horn; Jeff Watson (Lyons) playing trombone; and Viktor Sundleaf (Bancroft) playing tuba.
