Georgene (Brehmer) Fuller, 85, of Pender, Nebraska passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill, NE; Pastor Brion Tolzman will be officiating. Visitation will be Monday, March 13, 2017 at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home of Pender, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Georgene was born September 12, 1931 in Bancroft, NE to Emil and Lizzie (Stuckenschmidt) Brehmer. She was baptized October 4, 1931 and confirmed June 17, 1945 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pender by Reverend Robert Kruse. She married Francis “Barney” Fuller of Bancroft, NE on August 9, 1953 at St. John’s Lutheran Church by Reverend H. L. Hennig. Georgene worked at the sale barn as a cook where she became famous was her pies. She started working there in 1972 and for G and G Catering since 1983. She was a member of the Ladies Aid since 1963, the Red Hat Club, and the Neighbor Card Club. Georgene and Barney were also a 4-H leader since 1965.

Georgene is survived by her sons; Harvey Lee of Elkland, MO, Lonnie Gene (Diane) of Elkland, MO, daughter; Cheryl Lynn (Steve) Utech of Sioux City, IA, grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Georgene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis; a step grandchild, Jason Utech; sisters, Violet Paulson and Deloris Abendroth; and brothers, LeRoy Brehmer and Marlin Brehmer.

Violet C. (Johnson) Robison, 95, of Pender


Violet C. (Johnson) Robison, 95, passed away on February 26, 2017 in Omaha, Nebraska.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender; with Pastor Beverly Rautenberg-Panko officiating.  Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Pender.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church or the Pender Public Library.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Vi was born on September 2, 192l at home on a farm near Pender, Nebraska to William and Frances (Brandt) Weddingfeld.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and later became a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran church.

She graduated from Pender High School. She earned a teaching degree at Wayne State College and began teaching near Walthill, Nebraska.  During World War II, she worked at a defense plant in Omaha making crystals for walkie-talkie radios.  Vi married Harry Johnson, Jr. on February 2, 1946.

Vi returned to teaching in the 1960s.  She taught in several rural districts in the surrounding Pender area.  She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church where she enjoyed quilting and bible study with her Circle group.  She was an active member of ESA for many years.  Vi loved to dance and loved to tell the story that her first husband Johns learned to dance so he could date her.  Vi loved to read and travel abroad.  Her other love was gardening.  Planting and weeding in her garden until she was 91 years old kept her young and active.
Vi is survived by her daughters, Melodye (Dale) Olson of Omaha, NE, Meridee (Alan) Richards of Chicago, IL, Marvalee (Art) Nakata of Thornton, CO; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; Cory (Catherine) Olson and their daughters, Sophia and Samantha; Ryan (Liza) Olson; Bret Olson and his daughters, Mackenzie and Josie; Kate (Mike) Wheeler and their daughters, Rose and Keira; Zachary Richards and his son Scott; and her only surviving sibling  William Weddingfeld, Jr.
Preceding Vi in death were her parents; her first husband Harry Johnson, Jr. and her second husband Harry Robison; brothers, Wilbur and  Merlyn Weddingfeld; sisters, Madeline Barker, Myra Watson, Betty Bressler, Genene Busch; an infant brother; grandson Bret Olson’s wife Sarah.

John Edward Snyder, 63, of Rosalie NE


John Edward Snyder, 63, of Rosalie, Nebraska died Sunday, February 26, 2017 in Omaha, NE.  Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Winnebago, NE; Father Mark Beran will be celebrating mass. Memorial visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE. Burial will be at the cemetery in Walthill NE, with a dinner directly following in Rosalie NE  at the town hall.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

 

John was born on March 31, 1953 to John and Lois (Ross) Snyder in Decatur, NE.  John attended St. Augustine’s Indian Mission School from kindergarten through 8th grade and graduated from Winnebago High School in 1972.  John then attended a trade school in Omaha, NE to become a mechanic. He married Robin Woten in 1974, to this union, three children were born.

 

During John’s life he was a mechanic, drove school bus for Winnebago Schools, worked for Thurston County Roads Department and HCI.  He spent many years of his life playing slowpitch softball, hosting many fish fry fund raisers and always involved in his community.  In 1998, John and Robin opened Snyder’s Pub in Rosalie.  Snyder’s Pub is a place where friends and family meet to enjoy watching Husker games. John was an avid Husker Sports, Duke Basketball, Bears Football and Yankee Baseball fan.  He also enjoyed collecting things and going to flea markets all over the country including an annual trip to Rutledge, MO.  John was kind hearted and would give the shirt off his back to anyone and spent his life helping others.  John was known to many as “Papa” John, Brother, and “Daga”. The greatest love of his life was his family especially his children, grandchildren, friends, and extended family.

 

John is survived by his wife, Robin; sons, Chris (fiance Christine Cook) Snyder, Justin (Megan) Snyder; daughter, Brittnie (Sam) Dick; grandchildren, Christopher, Jr., Michael, Darwin, Isaiah, Colleen, JuRay, Brooklyn, Tavian, Kenyan, Kailynn, Jordan, Braylon, Donovan, Jaya, Samryn, Saigen, Corey, and Tobyn.  He is also survived by a nephew, Darwin (Susan) Snyder and  their children;  Jason, Teisha and Keisha; and a niece, Jan (Monty) Hawk.

Marcella Brehmer, 91, of Pender NE


Marcella (Konopasek) Brehmer passed away February 14, 2017 at Pender Community Hospital surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St John’s Lutheran Church in rural Pender Nebraska; Pastor Robert Schilling will be officiating. The visitation will be Friday, February 17, 2017 at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The burial will be at St John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, followed by lunch at the Pender Senior Center. Marcella was born May 24, 1925 on a farm near Beemer, NE to James and Anna (Vach) Konopasek. Marcella attended rural Cuming County Schools. On December 3, 1944 she married Leroy Brehmer.  In their younger years, Marcella and Leroy enjoyed roller skating and dancing. They farmed southwest of Pender and were blessed with two sons, Gary and Keith. Leroy passed away in 1990 and Marcella moved into town shortly after.

Marcella was a life time member of St John’s Lutheran Church of rural Pender. The past five years Marcella spent at Heritage of Emerson. She enjoyed the activities and made many close friends. Marcella was very honored to be the Valentines Queen in 2014. Marcella’s greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marcella is survived by her sons, Gary (Pat) Brehmer of Ponte Vedra Beach FL, Keith (Rita) Brehmer of Pender NE; close cousin, Dale (Joyce) Doescher of Galva, IA; grandchildren Ryan Brehmer of Niagra Falls, NY, Angie (Barry) Matthewson of St Johns, FL, Ben (Katie) Brehmer of Pender, NE, Molly (Amp) Ferg of David City, NE; great grandchildren, Daphne and Gwynn Matthewson, Collins and Crew Ferg; and step great grandchildren Kolton, Rylee and Zoey Lehmkuhl.

Harold Hermelbracht, age 74, of Pender, Nebraska passed away Monday, January 16, 2017, surrounded by his family at his home in Pender. Harold was born September 28, 1942 in West Point, NE to Albert and Elfrieda (Predoehl) Hermelbracht. He was baptized September 28, 1942 in West Point, NE and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Harold graduated from Bancroft High School in 1960.

On February 7, 1965, Harold married Judy Mayberry at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. As a young man he played softball and was a 4-H member and leader in Cuming County. He was an avid bowler, Cornhusker and Dodgers fan. Harold served on the board of the Northeast Nebraska Feeders Association, the Farmers Union Coop and the Northeast Coop. He also served on the Pender Township Board.

Harold coached his family in showing dairy cattle in 4-H for over 18 years. He was also a farmer and dairy man for over 40 years, while also raising beef cattle, stock cattle, hogs, soybeans, corn, alfalfa, and hay. One of Harold’s joys was raising a team of Percheron draft horses. He loved to train and drive them, and showed them at the Cuming County Fair. A plaque is placed in his honor at the fairgrounds by his family. Harold was a dedicated father and grandfather. He loved his family.

He was survived by his wife, Judy; children, Kellie (Steve) Wageman of Pender, NE, Kandie (Armando) Ambriz of West Point, NE, Kerrie (Russ) Renter of Pender, NE, Kristie (Evan) Widders of Morgantown, WV, and Katie (Ben) Brehmer of Pender, NE; sisters, Myra Larsen and Florence (Giles) Hannan; brothers, Richard (Marlene) Hermelbracht; grandchildren, Jordan (Jake) Ernesti, Kevin Wageman, Kyle Wageman, Kody Wageman, Rebecca McKay, Levi McKay, Rochelle (Brandon) Kai, Andrew (Alix) Ambriz, Alex Ambriz, DeAndra (Rick) Dirksneider, Alexis Renter, Harold Jase Sorenson, Justice Sorenson, Ryan (Ashley) Johnson, McKayla (B.J.)
