State Champion UNO Forensics Team to Perform in Decatur

Don’t miss the chance to see The University of Nebraska at Omaha’s state champion and nationally ranked Forensics (competitive speech) Team, coached by Abbie Farrens Syrek, when they perform in Decatur on Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Sears Center.

This is the ninth consecutive year Abbie has brought the team to Decatur to perform for the community. This year’s showcase will feature students performing a variety of speeches, limited prep and interpretive events as they prepare for the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET) which will be held April 4, 5, and 6 at Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Oregon.

The UNO team has been ranked in the top 10 of the nation for the past 7 years and this year claimed the state championship title. Each of the presentations you will hear have qualified for nationals with many of the team members qualifying the maximum number of six events

Please join Abbie, Assistant Coaches Cameron Logsdon and Ryan Syrek and the UNO team for an evening of free entertainment and refreshments! Everyone is welcome to stop in and hear these state champion and nationally ranked performers. We hope to see you there!
