David Earl Pearson was born November 5, 1963 in Oakland, Nebraska to Carroll and Mary Alice (Grenier) Pearson. He passed away August 31, 2018 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near Iowa Falls, Iowa, at the age of 54 years.

David graduated from Oakland-Craig High School in 1982. He was selected to play in the 1982 Nebraska Shrine Bowl. It was an achievement he was very proud of.

He was baptized, confirmed and was a lifelong member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland.

On December 22, 1983 David married Kathy Sok at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lyons, Nebraska. To this union was born one child, Garrett David Eugene Pearson, on January 30, 1995.

David worked at various jobs throughout high school. He was a partner in Forever Green Lawn Care in Phoenix, Arizona. He worked for D B Feedyards and Bromm Cattle Company. He then worked for Larson Farm Service and purchased the business in 1996. He retired from the fertilizer business and started farming, selling real estate and conducting auctions.

David served on various boards including First Evangelical Lutheran Church Council, Oakland-Craig School Board and Burt County 4-H Council. He was currently serving on Burt County Fair Foundation and Burt County Ag Society.

His love for ag, 4-H and kids made him the perfect example and supporter of youth involvement in 4-H. David continued his participation in sports; his greatest joy was coaching his son in baseball.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Pearson; grandparents; father-in-law, Steve Sok; brother-in-law, Dan Morgan; sister-in-law, Laurie Sok.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy and son Garrett; mother, Mary Alice Pearson of Oakland, mother-in-law, Pat Sok of Fremont, NE; sister, Phyllis Williams of Oakland; brothers, Carl (Julie) Pearson and Kurt (Brenda) Pearson of Craig, NE; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mark (Roxanne) Sok of Millard, NE, Theresa (David) Nelson of Lyons, Mike Sok of Fremont, Chris Von Seggern of Blair, NE, Jim (Marci) Sok of Norfolk, NE, John Sok of Fremont; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
