Meals on Wheels

 

Weekly Activities:

Wed. Dec. 6: Chime practice today at 9:00 a.m. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m. Sign up to play in the pitch tournament at 1:30 p.m.

Thurs. Dec. 7: Tai chi class at 9:30 a.m. Join us for coffee at 10:00 a.m. Come and play the golf game at 1:30 a.m. Remember to sign up for tomorrow’s dinner.

Fri. Dec. 8: Stop in for coffee. The meal for today is meatloaf, potatoes, veggie and dessert. Cards will be played at 1:30 p.m.

Mon. Dec. 11: Join us for coffee. The caregiver support group meets at 1:00 for a light lunch and then the meeting at 2:00 p.m.

Tues. Dec. 12: Tai Chi Class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time is at 10:00 p.m. Sign up to play hand & foot at 1:30 p.m.

Wed. Dec.13: No chime practice today. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m. Come and play Ski-Bo at 1:30 p.m.

 

Meals on Wheels

Getting tired of cooking for one person and then have left over’s that you will be eating for the next couple of days? Why don’t you consider getting meals on wheels; the meals are very nutritious and provide you with the protein, fruits and vegetables needed for a well balanced meal. Contact the manager at the Bancroft Senior Center if you have more questions or want to sign up; the number is 402-648-3387. We are getting very short on people willing to deliver the meals,won’t you think about volunteering 3 or 4 hours a month for this worthwhile program.

*Would you like to get Meals on Wheels? Anyone over the age of 60 years and lives within the city limits are eligible for these meals. You may sign up anytime for the Meals on Wheels program; you can get the meals delivered however many times you want them each week. You must call 402-687-2332 before 8:30 a.m. if you want a meal that day. The suggested donation for the meal is $4.00.

Wed. May 24: Chime practice at 12:30 p.m.; we will play at the Wisner Nursing Home at 2:00 p.m. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m. Cards at 1:30 p.m. The monthly board meeting is at 3:45 p.m.

Thurs. May 25: Tai Chi Class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time is 10:00. Sign up to play in the pitch tournament at 1:30 p.m.

Fri. May 26: Sign up if you want to play in the pinochle or hand & foot tournament at 1:30 p.m.

Mon. May 29:  the center is closed for Memorial Day.

Tues. May 30: Tai Chi class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m. Please sign up if you would like to play in the pitch tournament at 1:30 p.m.

Wed. May 31: Chime practice at 9:00 a.m. Coffee time is at 10:00 a.m. Fitness chair Ex. at 1:00 p.m. We will play bingo at 2:00 p.m.

April10 : Lesa Bargmann will be giving another class on using rubber stamps to design any type of all occasion cards, photo album pages or the boarder around a special photo; this class is free and everything needed for the class is provided, the class starts at 1:30 p.m. Sign up for the noon meal on Tues.

Tues. April 11: Tai Chi class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m. Roast beef dinner at noon. Cards will be played after lunch.

Wed. April 12: Chime practice at 9:00 a.m. Coffee time is at 10:00 a.m. Fitness Chair Ex. at 1:00 p.m. The pitch tournament is at 1:45 p.m.

Wed. March 24: Join us for coffee at 9:00 a.m. If you would like to play in the pinochle tournament at 1:30 p.m. please remember to sign up.

Mon. March 27: Join us for coffee in the morning. Come and play cards or a board game at 1:30 p.m. The board meeting is at 3:30 p.m. The evening quilling class will start at 6:30 p.m., the class is free. Sign up if you are interested in taking the class.

Tues. March 28: Tai Chi class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m. Today’s meal will be fried chicken and cards will be played at 1:30 p.m.

Wed. March 29: Chime practice at 9:00 a.m. Coffee time is at 10:00 a.m. Fitness Chair Ex. at 1:00 p.m. If you would like to play Skip-Bo it will start at 1:45 p.m.

Mon. Feb. 6: We have potluck today, bring a salad or dessert, the center will furnish the baked spaghetti. Cards will be played in the afternoon.

Tues. Feb. 7: Tai Chi class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m. We will recycle cards at 1:30 p.m.

Wed. Feb. 1: Chime practice is at 9:00 p.m. Coffee time is at 9:00 a.m. Come and play in the pitch tournament at 1:30 p.m.
