*If you are 60+ and need information on programs designed to help keep you in your home longer or if you need legal help, contact Connie at 402-648-3387 or in the evening at 402-648-7648. There are no membership fees or attendance requirements and new faces are always welcome.

* We have the following medical equipment to loan out on an as need basis, wheel chair, bath seats, toilet seat riser and portable toilet chair, crutches or walkers. Call 402-648-3387 during office hours.

Meals on Wheels

*Would you like to get Meals on Wheels? Anyone over the age of 60 years and lives within the city limits are eligible for these meals. You may sign up anytime for the Meals on Wheels program; you can get the meals delivered however many times you want them each week. You must call 402-687-2332 before 8:30 a.m. if you want a meal that day. The suggested donation for the meals is $4.00.

 

Weekly Activities:

Wed. Sept. 14: Melody chimers will practice at 9:00 a.m. Coffee time 10:15 a.m. No afternoon activities.

Thurs. Sept. 15: Tai Chi class at 9:30 a.m. and walking club at 10:40 a.m. Rolls and coffee from 9-11 a.m. FROG exercise class at 1:00 p.m. Sign up to play in the pinochle tournament at 1:30 p.m.

Fri. Sept. 16: Morning coffee. Birthday party with cards at 1:30. Lunch will be served at 3:30 p.m.

Mon. Sept. 19: Morning coffee. The caregiver support group will meet at 2:00 p.m.

Tues. Sept. 20: Tai Chi class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m. and walking exercises at 10:30 p.m. FROG exercises at 1:00 p.m. Pitch tournament at 1:30 p.m.

Wed. Sept. 21: Melody chimers will practice at 9:00 p.m. Coffee time at 10:15 a.m. Come and play bingo at 2:00 p.m.

Mon. Sept. 5: Center closed for Labor Day.

Wed. July 20: Coffee time at 9:30 a.m. No melody chimers this week. No bingo today. The foot doctor will be here today starting at 11:00 a.m. Call and make an appointment, if you are on Medicare, there will not be any charges for his services. There will be cards played starting at 1:30 p.m.

Thurs. July 21: Tai Chi class at 9:30 a.m. and walking club at 10:40 a.m. Rolls and coffee from 9-11 a.m. There will be NO chair exercises today at 1:00 p.m. Sign up to play pitch today at 1:30 p.m.

Fri. July 22: We will have a pinochle and Hand Foot tournament at 1:30 p.m.

Mon. July 25: chair exercises at 12:45 p.m. Pitch tournament starts at 1:15 p.m. The monthly board is at 3:30 p.m. Make your reservations for tomorrows meal.

Tues. July 26: Tai Chi class is at 9:30 a.m. Stop in for coffee at 10:00 a.m. Walking exercises 10:40 a.m., free blood pressures at 11:40 a.m. Chicken dinner is at 12:00. Nutrition Ed. program is at 12:20 p.m. Cards will be played at 1:45 p.m.

Wed. July 27: Melody chimers will practice at 9:00 p.m. Coffee time 9:30 a.m. They will be playing 65 or the golf card game at 1:30 p.m.

* The senior center provides Information and Assistance to any individual who is looking for services for themselves or another person 60 years and older, the center manager and/or center participant can provide information to individuals on services available within the community. We link individuals to the services and opportunities that are available within or beyond the community itself. We will then establish adequate follow-up procedures to see that their needs were met. Fri. May 13: Come and have coffee at 9:30 a.m. Pool tournament with Wisner pool players. The menu for the noon meal is hot beefs, mashed potatoes, corn and dessert. Our guest speaker will talk about Medicare at 12:20 p.m. Cards and games will be played in the afternoon.

Mon. May 16: There will be chair exercises at 1:00 p.m. The caregiver support group meeting is at 2:00 p.m.; the guest speaker will be Doris Osten and she will talk about Hospice.

Tues. May 17: Tai Chi class is at 9:30 a.m. Stop in for coffee at 10:00 a.m. Walking exercises 10:45 a.m. The chair exercise group meets at 1:00 p.m. Come and learn how to play Skip-Bo at 1:30 p.m. Board meeting will be at 3:45 p.m.

Wed. May 18: The melody chimers will practice at 9:00 a.m. The chair exercise group meets at 1:00 p.m. Open house today from 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Free Coffee, Cookies and Bars.
