* We have the following medical equipment to loan out on an as need basis, wheel chair, bath seats, toilet seat riser and portable toilet chair, crutches or walkers. Call 402-648-3387 during office hours.

Meals on Wheels

*Would you like to get Meals on Wheels? Anyone over the age of 60 years and lives within the city limits are eligible for these meals. You may sign up anytime for the Meals on Wheels program; you can get the meals delivered however many times you want them each week. You must call 402-687-2332 before 8:30 a.m. if you want a meal that day. The suggested donation for the meal is $4.00.

 

Weekly Activities:

Wed. June 7: No chime practice today. Come in the afternoon to play Skip-Bo at 1:30 p.m.

Thurs. June 8: Tai Chi Class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time is 10:00. Sign up to play in the pitch tournament at 1:30 p.m. Remember to make a meal reservation for Friday.

Fri. June 9: Have you made your meal reservation for the tuna noodle noon meal? Cards will be played in the afternoon.

Mon. June 12: Stop in and have coffee. There will be a pitch tournament at 1:30 p.m.

Tues. June 13: Tai Chi class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m. Play any type of cards or a board game that you would like at 1:30 p.m. the evening meal will be biscuits and sausage gravy, serving from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m.

Wed. June 14: No chime practice today. Coffee time is at 10:00 a.m. We will play bingo at 1:30 p.m.

Sat. June 3: No music jam this evening.

Sun. June 4: We are having an open house celebrating the senior center being in operation for 35 years. The Clarkson band will play at 2:00 p.m. and we will serve cake and ice cream at 3:00 p.m. the public is invited to attend.

Mon. June 5: Bring a covered dish plus a friend and join us for dinner at noon. Cards will be played at 1:30 p.m.

Tues. June 6: Tai Chi class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m. Please sign up if you would like to play in the pitch tournament at 1:30 p.m.

Wed. June 7: No chime practice today. Coffee time is at 10:00 a.m. We will play Skip-Bo 1:30 p.m.

The Bancroft Senior Center will be hosting an open house celebrating being business for 35 years. The Clarkson Band will play at 2:00 and we will serve cake and ice cream at 3:00 p.m. We invite the public to come and help us celebrate.

Fri. Nov.18: Monthly birthday party is today at 1:30 p.m. Lunch is served at about 3:30 p.m. All our friends are invited to the party.

Mon. November 21: The caregiver support group meets today at 2:00 p.m. Our guest speaker is Barb Fancher from the Area Agency on Aging. We welcome you to attend.

Tues. Nov. 22: Tai Chi class at 9:30 a.m. Coffee time at 10:00 a.m. and walking exercises at 10:30 p.m. Free blood pressure clinic starts at 11:40. Make your reservations to eat with us today; we will be serving a roast beef dinner. Cards will be played after lunch.

Wed. Nov. 23: Melody chimers will practice at 9:00 p.m. Coffee times at 10:15 a.m. FROG ex. at 1:00 p.m. Come and play Skip-Bo at 1:30 p.m.

Thurs. Nov. 24: Happy Thanksgiving. The center is closed today.

Sat. July 2: We invite you to come to the music jam tonight at 7:00 p.m.

The senior center provides Information and Assistance to any individual who is looking for services for themselves or another person 60 years and older, the center manager and/or center participant can provide information to individuals on services available within the community. We link individuals to the services and opportunities that are available within or beyond the community itself. We will then establish adequate follow-up procedures to see that their needs were met. Fri. May 13: Today is the monthly birthday and anniversary party join us to play cards or maybe dominoes at 1:30 p.m. Lunch is served at 3:30 p.m.

Mon. May 23: Have you filed your Homestead Exemption yet, make an appointment with Krista and she will do the paper work for you. Call and make your appointment to see her between 10 a.m. and noon today. There will be chair exercises at 1:00 p.m. The card game of Skip-Bo will be played at 1:30 p.m. The monthly board meeting will be at 3:45 p.m. Remember to make your reservation for the chicken dinner on Tuesday by 5:00 p.m. today.

Tues. May 24: Tai Chi class is at 9:30 a.m. Stop in for coffee at 10:00 a.m. Walking exercises 10:45 a.m. Free blood pressure clinic starting at 11:45 a.m. Fried chicken dinner at noon and nutrition education program at 12:20 p.m. Cards will be played after lunch.

Wed. Jan. 27: No melody chimes practice today. Come and have coffee with us at 10:30 a.m. Would you like to play the golf game at 1:30 p.m., the gals will teach you if you don’t know how to play.

Mon Dec. 14: The caregiver support group will meet for lunch at 12:30 at the center. The meeting will start at 1:30, bring an interesting article that made you smile and are willing to read to the group.

Tues. Dec. 15: Tai Chi class is at 9:30 a.m. and walking club at 10:45 a.m. Come and have coffee with us in the morning. We will have a golf game tournament at 1:30 p.m. Wed. Dec. 16: There will be melody chime practice at 9:00 a.m. Christmas party begins at 2:00 p.m. with entertainment and also a few games. Bring some snacks for lunch.
